We booked this 12 day cruise to South Africa & Namibia when we found out our Israel/Egypt cruise with Celebrity wouldn't be going ahead due to the political situation there.
When we booked we were going to spend only 3 days at sea with long port days in most of the ports of call including 2 full days in Namibia. Due to several itinerary changes including the last change being only a week ...
This was the second time on the Norwegian Dawn. First time was not a long time ago, in July 2023, cruise to the UK/Ireland and Scotland. The worst cruise ever! But as we were so dissatisfied of this cruise, we received money back and a voucher of 25% for next cruise. As this cruise to SouthAfrica is very expensive, it was a great moment to use the money and voucher. And fortunately, the flights ...
We chose this sailing because a) it was over Xmas and New Year and b) the itinerary. We had sailed with NCL previously and enjoyed all cruises. On this cruise there was a distinct inconsistency in service. The front desk were just appalling, as were the future cruise and excursion desks. Not sure they wanted to be there and were not well informed about their own products and services. The ...
Had booked a land trip with Safari, Capetown and Victoria Falls during the pandemic but that got cancelled. Was so amazed by the entire cruise experience. This was a surprising adventure with a mixture of cosmopolitan scapes in Capetown, Durban and Walvis Bay ports. At times felt like I was visiting the various islands in Hawaii with the various weather influences: Rainfall, Drought and just a ...
We chose this cruise as a relaxing way to get home from South Africa.
The ship gave a grand impression with wood paneling a feature. It appeared well maintained. For those who get sea sick, there was quite a bit of movement, even in relatively calm seas.
We had a balcony cabin, we started in 5137- midship. This cabin had a tender boat directly underneath it , which obstructed our view ...
We started planning this trip in May 2018, we booked in June 2018. We planned a holiday around this trip. First we flew down from Johannesburg on the 21st January, we explored Cape Town and did a few excursions which went very well. This was our first time on a cruise and we were very excited after reading a lot of reviews and feedback from other people who have done the trip. The start was not ...
Due to the delay we only embarked on 26Jan 2019 sadly missing two days of fun we were looking forward to..nevertheless once on board we were in awe of the beauty & magnitude of the ship & then the fun started. We loved the various lounges & bar areas for relaxation & good music. The dining sittings in the restaurant caters for everyones needs & the staff serving guests with a smile & then having ...
I embarked from Cape Town and unfortunately had a bit of a tough time with the weather so our cruise was delayed by two days. This however is not anyone's fault and totally understand MSC's reasoning for not embarking on the 24th. We only embarked the 26th January. Embarkation is a very long and tedious process. The waiting before going on board is crazy and very tiring.
The ship is so ...
Wanted to experience the Musica compared to others. Disembarkment in CT was a disasteras there was no discipline and people left the ship even though they were expected to wait.People smoke in non smoker areas with a sign above her head in the casino and they take drinks inti the theatre and nobody does anything,so instilling discipline of officials
is zero.No Italian dress up evening as they ...
We took this cruise to celebrate my daughters first birthday. The cruise itself was good, but due to high winds we were not able to dock on the last day. As a result we had to spend an extra two nights at sea. With 2 small kids on board it became quite difficult to manage as we were not prepared for the extra 2 nights. The facilities were great, especially the kids club. We were most disappointed ...
