We chose this sailing because a) it was over Xmas and New Year and b) the itinerary. We had sailed with NCL previously and enjoyed all cruises. On this cruise there was a distinct inconsistency in service. The front desk were just appalling, as were the future cruise and excursion desks. Not sure they wanted to be there and were not well informed about their own products and services. The restaurant, cabin, bar staff and on-board sommelier were excellent. Well informed and delivered a high end hospitality service.

There were some issues with the cabin in relation to temperature- it was either too hot or freezing and they could not regulate it. The excursions were of good quality once we arrived but transport to/from very uncomfortable - such as 6 people being crammed into a 4x4 meant for four passengers. We also wouldn’t want to repeat the trip to Durban - it felt very unsafe with a local guide that had very strong political views.

We always upgrade the drinks package and dining options. All restaurants were great, especially the Bistro and Cagney's. Worth the money. There was good entertainment both in the lounges and evening shows.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Mini-Suite with Balcony

Good location. Deck 11. Well serviced and clean. Just the temperature issue. Plenty of storage. Nice seating area.

Port Reviews

Cape Town

Easy access to city. Can easily walk off the ship. Well managed embarkation. Disembarkation a little more chaotic.
