Hopefully not our last Azamara cruise

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Quest

This was our third cruise with Azamara and it reconfirmed how much we like the brand (which doesn't seem any different since the change in ownership). Our cabin was on deck 8, which was handy for the buffet restaurant, Living Room and outside decks on 9 and for the main entertainment areas/dining room on 5. No need to use the lift as the ship is small enough to easily get around. Our cabin ...

Really excellent ship with wonderful crew

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Quest

There were 591 on this cruise (ship accommodates about 675) with a crew of about 400. This is considered an upscale line and ship and it is. The ship and crew did a fine job. The food was excellent and much better than most of their competitors, but they could use some menu additions and modifications. We love azamara and love the quest and you will too. This ship was apparently overhauled about ...

Bus crash in Rio

We wanted to see parts of South America. We enjoyed the food and service. The excursions were pricey so we did most touring on our own in ports. In Ponte Del Este, we obtained a private driver and toured the whole area including a visit to casa Pueblo, which was amazing. We took the ship’s excursion to see Christ the Redeemer and the beaches. On the way back to the ship. The bus driver lost ...

Better than expected

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Quest

My expectations for this cruise were very low based on the terrible Azamara website, incorrect embarkation directions and poor pre-trip customer service from the "home" office. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent crew, captain and cabin. On this cruise we went from Buenos Aires to Rio for two nights of Carnaval. The Quest was the only cruise ship that docked in Rio for two nights of ...

This is our 2nd Azamara in 2 months. Previous Onward Med. Was exactly the same food experience. In Windows Cafe very ordinary buffet type food offering. Unappetizing display with partly full serving dishes in reach until empty when replaced by the full one behind out of reach . Resembling a school canteen. Discovery main restaurant has very well organised impeccable service by numerous ...

We took this cruise as We had a credit from 2019. The ship looked like the Quest but there were differences. The food was fine but not great. The staff were excellent especially the concierge. The room was adequate-abit worn. The lecturer Dr. Joe was great. We would have liked more of this type of activity.. The onshore excursions seemed to lack good guides. City tour and Sugar loaf in ...

We hadn’t been to South America so we decided to cruise with Viking. We added the pre-cruise package to Buenos Aires which was very nice! Wonderful hotel (Hilton) . I would highly recommend adding these pre-cruise days. We had wonderful weather for the most part on the cruise. Lots of sun. The ship was lovely. The food was good, but not the best beef. The beef (steaks) were tough. Great ...

Chose this cruise for the itinerary of Argentina, Antartica and Chile, but the pretour to iguazzu falls (amazing!!! this is a fantastic pretour. Belmont hotel and our Argentinean guide Sol were a huge surprise - fabulous!) turned out to be a highlight; so consider it! The ship is due for a retrofit and needs it. Our owners suite was huge and lovely; so no complaints there, but our friends’ ...

Great itinerary, beautiful landscapes! Cruise service personnel was amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive to our desires and needs. Accommodations on board and land excellent. Nice food selection and presentation. Very good on-board entertainment, very talented singers, tango dancers shows, the pianist shows. Very informative and interesting lectures. Infinity ...

Great trip. Captain and hotel manager fantastic. Crew great - Damir, gregg, Christian, Deane stop out. Enrichment lectures great - I lined the short and punchy nature. Did well to find weather holes and calm slots. Entertainment poor - especially the pianist. Little atmosphere created in the lounge. You are not able to book a future cruise discount if you don’t book a specific ...
