Beautiful ship but missed two ports

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Viking Sky

Chose Viking as we heard good things about it. The Viking Sky was so lovely and the common areas were beautifully arranged for comfort and privacy. Loved all the many books available to borrow with no sign out---just use on the honor system. We were disappointed to miss two ports---feel like we were cheated out of the experience we chose this cruise for. Seems like the captain has the option ...

Viking Sky – Bergen to Montreal – September 9-23, 2017 Why this cruise? There were two major reasons for selecting this cruise. First, we wanted to experience this new class of ships which had received such stellar reviews. Then there was the itinerary, especially Lerwick in the Shetland Islands, where we had never been and which I especially wanted to visit. Unfortunately the stop in ...

First timer on Viking

The ship is fantastic and the food was incredible. Our room was a delux veranda and other than the closet door being difficult to access it was certainly adequate. The bathroom was quite large with lots of storage. The balcony was comfortable with its chairs and table. I have had better room stewards on other ships but room service was outstanding. Service in the bars was very good but quite ...

This was our first experience with a Viking Ocean cruise after three Viking River cruises. We got off to a bumpy start because our luggage didn't arrive until the next morning. We were nicely accommodated until we finally got our luggage. The ship is beautiful and pristine and the food incredible. The staff is so friendly and helpful and they helped to make the cruise the success that it was. ...

Viking Baltic Cruise

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Star

We wanted to cruise the Baltics and saw that Viking had a cruise on a date that would work for us. We had done a Viking river cruise a few years ago and were curious about the ocean cruise, so decided to give it a try. There were a few glitches, but we were not disappointed overall. I have to say the staff is remarkable. They are polite, intelligent, humble, and very accommodating. Our cabin ...

A great cruise

Overall we had a good experience. Had a few issues with the cabin. The bathroom door in our cabin would squeak when you opened or closed the door. This was very disturbing, especially in the night. Whenever my wife or I went to the bathroom in the night, the door would squeak and we would wake up the person sleeping. This took four day to be repaired. Hence the first few nights were ...

Beautiful ship but included tours were of poor quality.

The Viking Star is a wonderful ship. It is very roomy for the 930 people on the ship. There are plenty of outlets that are 110v so no need for a converter. By each side of the bed are outlets and charging stations. We had a penthouse veranda and it was quite roomy. We were on the 5th level in the middle. I would say the "even" side of the rooms had better vantage points when in port. You are ...

We had not been to Scandinavia before. Checked out Oslo and took the train to Bergen, spent 2 nights there. All transfers were smooth. One hitch was two people not coming back on time and we had to wait a long time for them to be located. Meanwhile our time at the Viking Museum was compromised. We liked the Taste of Norwegian Farm Life Shore excursion and the Fruit Village of Lofthus ...

Beautiful New Ship, Good Sailing Experience, But Land-Bound Customer Service....

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

Really hard to describe our experience because it was a two-week cruise, and so many experiences. In summary, our sailing experience was good, on-board Guest Services was excellent, pre-sail experience was way below expected, included shore excursions were mostly on a bus driving through town, very few stops, with a guide. Extra cost excursions were better, but with up to 44 people and ...

Viking Ocean - Viking Homelands

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

For the ports of call, tours and especially the size of the ocean liner Viking Sky was a winner. Even on a sea day you sometimes wondered where all the other passengers were. Embarking and disembarking went smoothly and quickly. The stateroom had plenty of closet storage plus some drawers. The bathroom is a plus in size and with heated floors! My husband found the food amazing and thoroughly ...
