"Comprehensive China Exploration" Beijing to Hong Kong or reverse
The title suggest that there is more “China” than there was, even before one port was deleted. But we certainly hit a lot of countries on the trip. (Note that you should get the 10-year “Multi-Entry” visa from China if you go on such a trip. It costs the same as a “Single-Entry” visa, and uses the same annoying application form.) ...
Wanted a smaller, less crowded ship, as we are not fans of the 3000 person ships.
This had an itinerary that was heavy in ports with many overnight stays in bigger cities. We do not prefer so many "at sea" days. The smaller ship has less amenities, so "at sea" days are not as enjoyable.
This smaller ship was able to dock closer the many of the downtown areas, since it could navigate the ...
We specifically chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We were expecting a wonderful experience but from the first night on board our expectations which started very high soon went downhill fast.
I was in the middle of cleaning my teeth when the water went off, no prior warning, it just stopped! After about 10 minutes it eventually came back but it was not clear and looked like coffee. ...
Itinerary was the driver behind choosing this cruise, we had sailed once before with Regent on Navigator!! and this ship promised a much nicer experience and it did not fail us.
Great cabin, fabulous food and a wonderful ship,, plenty of room and in great shape.
However the one big disappointment was the lack of any real management system or process on board. For example on several ...
This was our 3rd cruise on the Spirit. The first was for an anniversary 10 years ago - October 2006. We have made Oct 2016-Oct 2017 and anniversary year.
The cruise was from Hong Kong to Beijing with stops in Japan and Korea.
We had booked our own Air to Hong Kong but had problems finding a reasonable Business Class fare for the return. We checked with Regent and they were able to come up ...
Difficult weather conditions were compounded by Nautica Purser staff struggling to efficiently deal with immigration requirements and made for a chaotic cruise. It is as if Oceania did not cruise to these ports (in China, Korea and Japan) several times each year! Many hours were required to process all passengers before they could disembark. Plus the fact that if you have not bought an Oceania ...
Disorganised staff lost us three days of shore trips and no apology. Extremely dismissive attitude: 'don't worry you'll get your money back at the end. (In USD at a very poor rate).
Money back is not the issue. A trip to the Great Wall, one of the prime reasons for going, was thrown away by the crew because of bad management
A botched embarkation left all passengers stranded for over a ...
We did the Beijing to Hong Kong cruise. Absolute chaos at the start when our ship could not dock in Tianjin and some 600 passengers had arrived at the port. There was no one from the shipping company or the port authority who could tell us what was going on. Had we been able to have some communication explaining that fog had delayed the docking of the vessel and we would board the following ...
We are new to Oceania and had booked what we considered to be a great N. Asia port programme. In the end so much of it just didn't happen.
I guess they tried hard to overcome the problems that beset this cruise but the first requirement in crisis management should always be talk to and listen to your customers.
For a large part of this cruise that just didn't seem to happen!
We arrived at ...
Just got back from our curise on Nautica, it is always the best in yachting one can experience. You feel like you are at your home away from home. We are been on serveral cruises with Oceania on Nautica.
The service is always top notch!!! The food is amazing and never disappoints especially Polo and Toscana. We have always taken the private tours which are also wonderful with the most ...
