Our beautiful Oberoi hotels in Delhi and Agra/Taj Mahal with outstanding food - unfortunately I took many videos instead of photos, so not visible in my review

Highly Anticipated, Sadly Disappointed.
"I will note that in all other ports, there were no crew members outside or just inside the gangway to greet you with cold towels or chilled water when returning to the ship, something we've experienced on many other line.I will say, the Athens cruise terminal is not the best, and it's no fault of Silversea that the terminal is a large, semi-air conditioned tent...."Read More

So, So Disappointed

Review for Silver Spirit to Mediterranean

Silversea has been blindly focused on cutting costs and this has severely impacted the quality of its offerings. This cost cutting has shown up it two areas. The first is the ship was grossly understaffed and the staff that were there were undertrained, inexperienced, and often not qualified for the positions they held. The wait staff, who were there, to the most part, did an outstanding job. ...

Athens to Venice on Silversea, first time for loyal Seabourn sailors

We chose this cruise purely for the itinerary and the dates. Seabourn was not available for what we needed. At first we thought we were impressed with the food, but the longer we travelled, we discovered that the menus in the speciality restaurants were disappointing. The Japanese and French themed one (the latter costing $120 per couple extra) were neither Japanese nor French in culture, nor ...

Not the Silversea standard it once was

This cruise was a big "miss". The food was poor quality and no variation from day to day and from restaurant to restaurant. For instance, we did not find the buffet in La Terrazza very interesting for lunch so instead we went to the Atlantide only to realize that the menu was the exact same as the buffet. We commented on this to the waiter, but it was never addressed by the head waiter. We saw ...

Silversea has always been seen as the pinnacle of cruising. As it's branded as "ultra-luxury" we've waited a long time to be able to sail and with great anticipation. We found this amazing 7 night Greek Isles & Turkey itinerary and had to book it right away. We did our research, read reviews, joined even joined the informal group on Facebook to read about what to expect. It all sounded so amazing: ...

With very few exceptions, a wonderful cruise

This was a 15-night cruise from Athens to Athens, via Istanbul. (Somehow, CruiseCritic did not list that as an option.) We were originally booked on a 15-night cruise from Athens to the Black Sea via Istanbul, but the itinerary was changed due to the war in Ukraine. (Thanks, Russia...) And then Silversea split it into two legs -- with most of the passengers being on the full 15 nights, but ...

This review of how bad Silversea and Silver Spirit are could go on for 100’s of pages, so here are bullet points as to why you should avoid this Royal Caribbean in disguise cruise line and like me mourn the days of great food, service, and a feeling of being wanted, valued and safe. 1. Boarding was a nightmare; they lost my booking and it turned out the had cancelled it as the ‘FCC’ dept had ...

I normally don’t do reviews on cruise critic, bu having read some recent reviews on the Spirit thought some balance was required. Firstly history… we have sailed with several different lines but have now settle on Silversea, we have sailed with them since 2010, and cruises on most of the ships of the fleet, we normally stick to Veranda suites but on this cruise upgraded to a silver suite, ...

Terrible experience. No 5 stars by far

Chaos is the basic for this experience. Not only caused by the Covid restrictions but overall there’s a huge lack of quality in service, attitude and amenities. Considering people are paying at least over $1200,= per night, you are expecting the absolute best. What is delivered is a Royal Caribbean cut money policy where not the quality but the quantity is boss. Expect poor, poor beds and ...

We went on a 7 day trip from Athens to Venice. This was a great itinerary with many wonderful stops. It was the main reason we selected this cruise. We thought the excursions were very good. We only booked the half day or shorter ones but we did do one everyday . We booked our own in Venice because Silversea wait listed us on the one we wanted. We thought that was unusual since we booked ...

The Silversea doesn't compare in service, staff or attitude to the Seabourn

Silversea Cruise Critique: Athens to Venice September 21 to September 28, 2027 The Silversea doesn't compare in its service, in the quality of its staff nor in its overall attitude to the Seabourn. Here are a few examples: Food: The cuisine is too nouvelle: ‘too cutesy by half’. The portions are small; odd combinations that don't work together; poorly prepared, and frequently ...
