This was a 15-night cruise from Athens to Athens, via Istanbul. (Somehow, CruiseCritic did not list that as an option.) We were originally booked on a 15-night cruise from Athens to the Black Sea via Istanbul, but the itinerary was changed due to the war in Ukraine. (Thanks, Russia...) And then Silversea split it into two legs -- with most of the passengers being on the full 15 nights, but some doing either the first or second leg.
The itinerary was not what we had originally hope for, but that really didn't matter much. Athens, Istanbul, and points in between were all great.
This was our fourth cruise but our first on Silversea. It did live up to expectations, even with a few glitches here and there. Embarkation in Athens was easy and quick, as was our return to the airport. The door-to-door service was especially nice. To be honest, I was expecting there to be issues (given what I had read) but everything went smoothly.
It was pretty much everything we expected -- spacious, well-designed, and very comfortable. The bathroom was roomy -- a great shower and then a separate bath, where we could hang bathing suits to dry. The only issue was the TV, which was very glitchy. Very hard to use the remote (we got a replacement, which still didn't work well), and the TV did not consistently respond to it. We weren't there to watch a lot of TV, but there is information on the TV about the cruise that is useful, and it's surprising that Silversea can't get this right.
That's a small complaint, however, as overall the suite was great.
