We are loyal RC Platinum members. The Allure is a beautiful ship but the service and food is not up to RC standards as we have experienced on previous cruises. The crew appeared to just be going thru the motions without any enthusiasm. If you got in their way they would give you a dirty look and expect you to move rather than them moving for you. I have never experienced such terrible service ...
While there were great things about this cruise, overall I was somewhat glad for it to be over by the end. This was my first cruise and the experience was generally disappointing, with some good parts.
Embarkation was awful. Complete chaos and the staff along the way were very Curt and seemed irritated with us at times. By the time we were actually on board, we felt like we just wanted to go ...
Everything on this ship is over crowded. Lines and long waits for almost all the dining venues. Everywhere we went aboard this ship was crowded except for the Diamond Lounge. This was a Caribbean cruise and the design of the ship, open on the inside, means the ship was very warm throughout. We had our room thermostat turned all the way down and the room never really cooled off. Lots to do but ...
I choose this cruise because it did sail to St. Thomas. Several days before boarding I found out that they would not sail to St. Thomas as planned. Royal would not allow any refunds or transfers to another ship. They did not even notify us. We found out by trying to book a shore excursion. We called Royal. They would not allow any cancellations or re-book or transfer to another ship. We ...
We were a little apprehensive about this cruise ship having previously been on the Oasis and concluded that these ships are just too large and the ratios of staff to passengers is poor generally resulting in a somewhat underwhelming overall experience. However it was a celebration cruise and the itinerary was the reason for joining this particular cruise.
We only started cruising 8 years ago, ...
I chose this cruise because I wanted to share the experience of a nice ship and warm weather with a great friend. My cabin and overall experience on board was great. The dining room service was wonderful as was the food. My experience when being off the ship is another story. My first excursion on a glass bottom boat in the Bahamas was terrible. Not only did we see few fish, but I got injured ...
It was a company retreat, but we had to pay our own expenses. I will never again cruise on one of these monster ships. We stood in line for two hours just to board. Except for the extra cost restaurants the food was rather ordinary.
The shows were crowded and way too loud. We went to one comedy show it was small and intimate.
The shore excursions were mob scenes. We had to walk for a ...
I've been told for years that I need to try a cruise. Everything is included, you visit multiple exotic locations, the people are so nice...Ok, well, not everything is included and when you're a 1st timer (they have ways of determining this when you're booking), they do the best they can to nickel and dime you. The included restaurant fare is typical of a standard all-you-can-eat buffet in the US, ...
I really would have liked to see more variety on the boat, lots of luxury, lots of people, few pools and slow service in the restaurants. The shows more of the same. It's not a "fun ship". The service charges you consume that are not included are very high. There is no variety of activities in the pool or when the boat is on the sea. Only the 70 's party was super fun for everyone. Captain's ...
All of my other cruises, 5+, have been on Carnival. I wanted to try RCI because the ships seemed bigger and better. I was wrong. Yes, the ship was big and pretty but not better. I felt nickeled and dimed and was bored. The rooms are smaller, parties were hard to come by. Shows were okay. While the comedians were funny, they should have new materiel by the end of the cruise. The Quest was ...
