Trepidation to Cruise.... Not Now

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Voyager of the Seas

Took the family on our first cruise and for me its been 35 odd years since last cruising - friends and colleagues warned us of all these nasty experiences and I now suspect its so the ships aren't booked out and prices are kept down. So a 14 day Sth Pacific journey - a stateroom, a balcony room and an internal room with a virtual balcony. Our suite/stateroom exceptional, good size good balcony, ...

Good Holiday; 14 nights with Mystery Island, Port Vila, Suva, Lautoka and Noumea

Overall, we had a good holiday. My biggest issue is that the food is hit and miss in the main dining room. Some really good dishes and then some poor ones with a dominance of bland and the unfortunate use of MSG. I often eat fish and it was overcooked on two occasions with once being about right. This is difficult with the difference being as little as one minute but dry fish is terrible. I ...

Very good but too many children not supervised!

I chose this cruise to get out of Sydney for New Year. I know it is school holidays but I didn't expect so many badly behaved children. Last year I went on the Radiance to New Zealand and it was great. I guess the lesson is no school holiday Cruises to warmer climates! I also felt the entertainment on this cruise wasn't as good as previous Cruises. Too many comedians that weren't that ...

Our first and possibly the last cruise

We thought we give cruising a go with a 8 night Pacific Island tour and see what all the fuss is about when others tell you how much of a wonderful time they had cruising here and there. We are a family of 4 with 2 boys at the ages of 12 and 9. Boarding was very easy and this surprised us. It did help that we had been quite early, but the whole process was a well oiled machine. Straight into ...

The arrival at the port was quite well laid out and it was well run for embarkation and the staff very help full. I was traveling with someone in a wheelchair, and the ship staff didn't seem to have enough wheelchair assistance. Maybe Royal Caribbean could take a leaf out of P&O's procedure and get the portside staff take the wheelchair people onto the ship. The cabin was comfortable and ...

I travelled on this 9 night sailing on board Voyager of the Seas from/to Sydney, visiting Lifou, New Caledonia; Port Vila, Vanuatu; Mystery Island, Vanuatu & Noumea, New Caledonia, with a group of other singles. Overall I had a great time and made some great new friendships. This was my sixth cruise, and I do believe there is a huge amount to like about a cruise holiday. Unfortunately, it's ...

As always when embarking in Sydney it was quick and the whole process took 30 minutes. Once on board you are officially on Holidays. I have noticed that in other reviews it is mentioned about the " Heavy" up sell on Drink packages and Dinning etc Yes there are staff out selling Packages but I found a polite no did the trick. It's not like they chase you down the deck. Once on we tradionally ...

This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise. We booked an obstructed balcony, junior suite. We loved the cabin, it was spacious, with a great balcony. Although I didn't really enjoy the daytime activities, I'm not much into trivia, overall I had a fantastic time. A highlight was the adult only spa/swimming pool region. I enjoyed the multiple bars, the music, and entertainment. The street parties ...

We stayed at The Rocks ( Rendezvous ) prior to boarding. A great location. Embarkation and Disembarkation in Sydney both went smoothly with minimal fuss. Once on board we went exploring because it was our first time on the Voyager. Set up was a little similar to the Radiance except on a larger scale. Had a light lunch at the Promenade Café , which we also used for most breakfasts and ...
