The cruise ends back in Sydney

I travelled on this 9 night sailing on board Voyager of the Seas from/to Sydney, visiting Lifou, New Caledonia; Port Vila, Vanuatu; Mystery Island, Vanuatu & Noumea, New Caledonia, with a group of other singles. Overall I had a great time and made some great new friendships. This was my sixth cruise, and I do believe there is a huge amount to like about a cruise holiday. Unfortunately, it's often an expensive option for singles/solos as there is usually a significant single supplement.

This was my first time on a Royal Caribbean ship, and while there were many great things, there were quite a few cons as well.

Pros:

Large Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin F

A very good size and pleasantly surprised to find that the bed was able to be sideways to the door. It was lovely having a sofa as well as the bed. The bathroom was typical cruise size (i.e. pretty tiny). Having the flush for the toilet behind the toilet lid was a pain, as it was easy to press it when one sat on the toilet. The wardrobe was a good size, and there was good other storage. My biggest disappointment was that there was no liquid soap or shampoo provided. Instead there was only small pats of soap (i.e. the size you would get in a small make-up set). Having liquid soap and shampoo is a given on Carnival Australia ships and Princess Ships, and this is really something that Royal Caribbean should fix.

Port Reviews

Sydney (Australia)

Sydney is a great city with an amazing harbour. If you're cruising in/out of Sydney, it's definitely worth spending a few days before or after your cruise as there is so much to see. Two of the best times to be in Sydney are May for Vivid Sydney Festival and for New Year's Eve where the Fireworks and Light show is amazing.
