We chose this cruise because of the destinations and the fact that is was a Christmas/New Years cruise. Embarkation and disembarkation in Miami went smoothly.
We were told when we booked that we would not stop in Key West because it would be Christmas Day. Several passengers we talked to were upset that Key West was not included and had not been told about the schedule change when they ...
The cruise hit central america but one day we didn't go to key west because it was xmas. We also missed grand Cayman due to weather conditions although I thought that was a poor excuse since things were not bad from our view. Other cruise lines were able to make port. That was the bad news. As we have experienced in the past, the food, service and entertainment was excellent (although more ...
We've enjoyed Viking's river cruises for several years and wanted to try their new ocean service, so we signed up for the "Turquoise Caribbean Seas" that departed Miami on December 17, 2017. Since this was a test run for us, we chose a short cruise (7 days) with 4 ports and 3 days at sea.
The ship itself was wonderful, possibly the best we've ever sailed on--and we've been on quite a few ocean ...
This was kind of a last minute choice for us--the price was right and they threw in free air fair. Let's get the bad stuff out of the way and move on to the good things.
Our documents were sent in error to some address in Florida (we live in Virginia). My travel agent had to pay $35.00 to have Viking correct THEIR error! Having cruised since 1980 we have learned NOT to fly down on the ...
The onboarding experience in Miami was stressful and tedious. I had flown in on a red eye from San Francisco and arrived early. There was nothing to eat (some fruit, juice and muffins would have been appreciated.) Apparently this was a new facility and perhaps not yet fully operational; the staff also seemed confused.
While I understand that there is a short turn-around time for the ship, and ...
Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly and were well-organized. The ship was immaculate and our cabin was very well cared for. The food was delicious and its presentation was very well done.
The singers and dancers were fantastic some of the best we have seen on cruises. My husband was recovering from open heart, bypass surgery, so the main focus of this cruise was relaxation, ...
Viking have great suites -- we always book the Explorers. Room Stewards were excellent; could not have asked for more. Great food and service in all the dining rooms. We greatly enjoyed the wine tastings. We also enjoyed most of the very informative talks by effective speakers. Classical music players were excellent -- other "music" a problem and far too loud. A positive is no children / ...
Enjoying immensely our 141 day world cruise, which is Vikings first. First class in every way except the included shore excursions - so don't consider that shore excursions are included when weighing up if this is the cruise for you. You have to buy your port excursions through Viking or independently online unless you want crap and don't mind wasting your time. They may look great in print, ...
I chose this cruise because it is special since it is Viking’s Inaugural World Cruise and stops at some places I have always wanted to experience and it is adults only. The ship is beautiful with “the best of everything “ in all areas. There are several choices of places to have delicious meals. I have never experienced such service. The staff bends over backward (with a smile) to make sure you ...
My embarkation experience was okay. I had no problems with my flights. My suitcase was damaged between the airport and the ship and delivery was delayed until quite late . I thoroughly enjoyed my time on board. I liked the decor and available amenities. I frequently walked on the decks and used the gym. I used many of the public areas throughout the day. I especially enjoyed the upper level ...
