We loved everything about this cruise.
The excursions with one exception (the excursion to the Belvedere Museum/Palace was our most expensive one and by far the worst one--staff was so unorganized) were fabulous. We learned and saw a lot on each of the excursions. I really enjoyed all that we learned in Nuremberg at the rally grounds, museum and courthouse where the top Nazis were tried. ...
Previously sailed with Viking and the experience was great. When we started sailing with Viking the included tours were more packed with exciting things to see. Now everything you might want to see is optional and the prices are very high. I would like to see less optional and more included. Food quality has also gone down, not as many choices and the food is not the same quality. We had to change ...
This was our very first River Boat Cruise. We have done many Ocean cruises and this is much slower, much more relaxing and much more intimate. The crew gets to know you by name and so do a lot of the other passengers. Service is excellent and personal and the prices are much lower than on the ocean cruises.
We have a free walking type of excursion each and every day to explore the new ...

We chose this trip for location itinerary price timing
Great places visited
Great education, daily classes with Stefan which prepared us for following excursion.
Super cruise director. Stefan
A little disappointment due to water level, forcing ship change.
True disappointment, no medical on ship. Wow, hard to believe with the age oft he clientele
We really enjoyed the local ...
After more than 10 ocean cruises my husband and I decided to take river cruise instead this spring. We chose the Danube cruise from Passau Germany to Budapest on Viking Cruise Line. First the positives: the boat was very clean, the crew friendly, most ship port of call tours were great, and it was a smooth ride all the way. Now for a few significant negatives: on this 8-day cruise, four of the ...
We appreciate your honest review, Sunshine5240, and sincerely regret to hear that your first river cruise experience left you feeling disappointed. Your comments about the food quality and...
Last Viking cruise we went on we had the large Explorer Suite at the back, very noise, it is right over the engines and going through a lock at night shook you out of bed. The smoking area is at the back of the boat so the rooms deck was in-usable unless you wanted to sit in cigarette smoke. Avoid these expensive suites.
This time we decided for those reason to have a suite..........mistake ...
We chose Viking as we had sailed with them twice before and we chose the Passage to Eastern Europe as we had done the Romantic Danube from Budapest to Nuremburg before and wanted to do the other half of that beautiful river. Aside from the great on board experience, it was very educational for us as well to see and hear first hand of the troubles and recovery of that part of the world. The ...
This cruise interested us because of the quaint and historic places to see and visit. Several friends have previously taken this cruise and highly recommended it. We left home two days early to spend extra time in Amsterdam, which we did on our own, not through an extension. This way we selected a very centrally located hotel, convenient to the places we wanted to visit, and pre-booked the museums ...
We chose this cruise because of the length and because of all the ports we visited. We were more than pleased with the results. The cruise was extremely relaxing, and the service was outstanding! We especially enjoyed the cruise director and our waiter, Alan. The port visits were well organized and interesting and we enjoyed them all. The extra excursions were something we chose to skip, but ...
