Good time but needs more crew

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

We wanted to see Australia as a continent. I would have prefered to start and stop at Sydney. Embarkation was dreadful as there was only machine for 2200 people to walk thru for security. We waited on line for an hour and a half. Never before has that happened in all our years of cruising. At Port Headland, they did not have enough buses and at a cost of A$25 extra. The wait to get of ...

It was part of a package deal with Indian Pacific Rail trip, time in Sydney and able to cruise to home port (Darwin). We have mostly cruised with Princess line and therefore found RC to be lacking in the little things that you miss, like moisturizer, having to ask for soaps, bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Cannot fault cabin steward nor dining room staff in their attendance to their ...

Set sail on 31Jan18 and according to Captain seas were at 6 metres (20 foot) - a lot of peoples sick and for first time I can remember the theatre was half empty - not a lot of people in dining rooms either so more for me treat. Rough seas stayed for 2 days. I was on balcony on deck 7 - I do not recommend it as balcony overlooks canvas awnings covering life boats - decks 8 and 9 seemed better ...

We sailed on RCCL’s Radiance of the Seas for 28 days from January 3 to 31, 2018. This was two 14-day back-to-back cruises that took us from Australia to New Caledonia, Fiji, Tonga, both islands of New Zealand, and back to Australia. First let me say that the ship’s staff and managers worked very hard to please. Airline employees are experts at saying “no,” while RCCL’s employees try very hard ...

We were looking forward to a fun, party type atmosphere like we have had recently on Explorer, Rhapsody and Celebrity Solstice. Those ships had dancing almost every night to a really uptempo band playing great dance music and there was either a party in the public area or the nightclub was pumping. This voyage had a largely young to youngish age group looking to have fun at night but the ...

Could have been nice but ended badly

Old but correct ship partially renovated. Service on board was a little bit to festive or let's say relax even if attendants where nice. No touch of class compare to other ships. We had an excellent room attendant on our 10 th deck. We are not young people even if in good shape and we were travelling with our grand daughter that dreamed on this cruise and overall enjoyed. Stateroom for three ...

The ship is getting a little old, so they say, and some of the activities on newer, larger ships are just not here. There was not a decent water slide, except a tiny one for the kiddies' pool. On Carnival, by contrast, I had a great time as a 47-year-old on the Green Thunder. That's the kind of inclusion that RCI needs on more of its ships. Embarkation and disembarkation were very easy. ...

Second cruise, same ship

The check-in went like clockwork in regards to Royal Caribbean. The security checks were a joke. No coordination, no regards to anyone. We were treated like slabs of meat on a conveyor belt. This was our second cruise on this ship. We did not notice so much on the first cruise but this time we noticed it was buy, buy, buy every day. Buy this, buy that, get this, get that, non stop. For us it ...

Sydney port was fantastic with emabarkation n disembarkation so fast n smooth. Everyone raves about Radiance cant see why. 11 night on a ship with not enough to do. Cabins old n need a big over haul. Dining room food n staff very good however the Windjamer was same n same not enough variety. Sevice was always great n friendly, although some of the staff in the Windjamer are rude Eg; while docked ...

boarding and disembarking was so easy, with helpful staff.cabin was clean, tidy, airy and cabin staff excellent.however, fridge didn't work, and no-one interested in replacing it. the ship itself requires maintenance, with stained carpets, faulty wiring, discoloured glass, chipped furniture etc.by comparison, the food and dining in both the windjammer and cascades was first class, with fine food ...
