Set sail on 31Jan18 and according to Captain seas were at 6 metres (20 foot) - a lot of peoples sick and for first time I can remember the theatre was half empty - not a lot of people in dining rooms either so more for me treat. Rough seas stayed for 2 days.
I was on balcony on deck 7 - I do not recommend it as balcony overlooks canvas awnings covering life boats - decks 8 and 9 seemed better if you wanted to look down at seas.
Having been on many cruises now I do not like the layout of Radiance - its nt a bad ship its just that others are better. If you like to attend quizzes then the Schooner bar on deck 6 has limited space.
Stateroom was fine but view from balcony with canopy over lifeboats not the best - reasonable space inside. If you chose deck 7 try for a room with wheel chair access or corner room
Since I live here I didn't take any tours obviously BUT it is the best harbour in world bar none
One must try to walk up Baldwin street (the steepest street in world) also a tour of Cadburys factor is a must and a train ride - you can do all these yourselves - people very friendly - cafes and restaurants good and reasonably priced - overall a very nice town
Quaint - some people go from here to Christchurch - done that but nothing special.
Small town with a very distinct French flavour.
There are several tours one can take if you want or you can just walk around town.
This is a tender port so takes some time to get to shore
Recommend Cable Car and Museum (its free) but lots to see.
Some nice tours outside Wellington just as 4 wheel driving but many on the expensive side.
Lots to do in town.
Reminds me a bit of CBD Sydey - sky tower is a must -local buses are cheap and a good way to get around Auckland - aquarium is very interesting as is the yachting museum close to ship.
Shopping expensive compared to Australia.
Cruising around harbour worth a try as scenery is spectacular.
Wow -it rained and it poured and our group got soaked but it was fun - except we are now all coming down with colds.
Went to Russell which is worth a look. There is a glow worm cave to see but it was out of action due to heavy rain (I'd seen it before).
Town is lovely to walk around and do some shopping,
Treaty grounds are really worth exploring (lots of history) and you may see a Maori exhibition (really good)
