Pleasant is not enough for a "Royal" cruise

It went wrong with the check in counter at the terminal of Marine Bay Cruise Terminal in Singapore. Before that awful experience everything went smooth. It was my wife’s Australian visa, although GRANTED, that caused the uproar. She is Filipina, a flight attended for 33 years with Cathay Pacific, and applied on line for an Australian Visa, which was granted within 3 days. The ...

Very disappointed by handling of docking in Darwin

One of the reasons we chose this cruise is that we had never been to Darwin. Well. we still haven't! The Exit deck was changed from Deck 1 (as was widely advertised) to deck 4, and the ramp provided was incredibly steep. I hired a scooter for the express purpose of seeing Darwin, but it would not have been safe to take it down the incline, nor would I have been able to ride it back up. ...

Hi, I'm an experienced cruiser, but have never sailed with Royal Caribbean. My Mum (75)and I flew from Heathrow to Singapore, stayed overnight, and joined the voyager of the seas for the trip of a life time visiting Australia. We checked in our 2 cases, with full information stapled to handles, confirming we were on the voyager, as the Quantum of the seas was birthed beside. We ...

Singapore to Sydney - what a disappointment

We have sailed only once previously with RC on Ovation of the seas, from Sydney to New Zealand and back to Sydney, and had a great time so we decided to try the newly renovated Voyager of the Seas. No complaints whatsoever. What a disappointment this cruise was. The check in at Singapore was extremely unorganised. There are only two sets of elevators which for a ship of this size is ...

Good cruise from Singapore to Sydney....with a few issues

There is plenty of information on this great site regarding the Voyager. This review is intended to give an overall opinion without too much detail. We have cruised many times on different ships to various destinations - cruising from Singapore was on our bucket list and the timing permitted a cruise on the Voyager. So both the ship and embarkation port were firsts. Overall the ship with its ...

Sadly less good than our previous experience on Voyager

Good package and a few days in Singapore so we were ready to go. Embarkation was ok but we waited until 120 new crew were embarked. Chaos because of new staff who were thrown into work without specific training. The first night our table for 8 had 7 chinese sitting there before we got to it and although they should not have been there nothing was done a bout it do together with the other ...

Singapore to Sydney. Cabin was ok attendant was not on the ball I had no clean towels 3 separate times and no spare toilet paper also. Dining room, 2nd sitting was half full/empty, The main meals were warm to cool, not hot,the creme brullee was just custard in a ramekin, The windjammer had a better variety but again have seen better. I didn't have to line up for my breakfast or lunch in the ...

They seem to have forgot the basics

Embarkation: Singapore was a mess. Thousands of people waiting around to get on. I couldn't help asking myself "have these people done this before". Things just seemed unorganized. In all, we were over 3 hours late leaving because embarkation was such a mess. It wasn't just passengers. We made it on at 5PM when the ship was supposed to leave. I estimate there were over 1000 ...

This has put me off cruising for life!!!

This was, without doubt, the worst holiday experience I have encountered to the extent that I asked the ships Customer Services Manager about being let off the ship in Brisbane. We suffered two weeks of beer swilling noisy and foul mouthed people, terrible overcrowding, endless queues, continual RCI bad management, disgusting food, untrained, un-interested and rude staff, highly expensive drinks ...

Needing time away, this was a fantastic break away which met every box for me. You can met as many people as you like or just spend time on your own, the choice was yours which was great!! . Embarking was a bit slow, but hay, over 3000 people, that's normal! Loved the info touch screen on every floor by the stairs/lifts. Helped a lot till I got to know my way around. Things to do to ...
