This was our first Silversea cruise and 19th cruise overall. We sailed on 10 different lines, including Crystal, Oceania, Azamara and more.
Overall, it was a great cruise, but I must say I expected more from a "6 star line with intuitive service". The service was good to very good overall, but we didn't feel that they "learn our preference and anticipate our needs".

Silversea has been blindly focused on cutting costs and this has severely impacted the quality of its offerings. This cost cutting has shown up it two areas. The first is the ship was grossly understaffed and the staff that were there were undertrained, inexperienced, and often not qualified for the positions they held. We boarded Silver Shadow on 17th April 2019 in Mumbai for a 9 day cruise visiting ports in India, Oman and UAE. We chose Silver Shadow as we had sailed on her in 2016 in Alaska. This is our 5th Silversea cruise and we are currently on the ship. Service and food are no where like it used to be. Obviously it’s purchase by Royal Caribbean last year has affected the elegance, food quality and top tier service we’ve experienced in the past. Silversea positions and prices itself at the top end of the market. We expected it to be good all of the time rather than most of the time.
Our cabin butler was outstanding which was certainly a big plus.
Restaurants usually but not always good and a couple of times particularly slow for no obvious reason. Sometimes thought the staff would have like to have been elsewhere!
