We chose this cruise because people had told us NCL was good. We were disappointed. The disappointment started right after we boarded. The bar staff was rude and condescending, we never met our steward and our first mean at OSheehans restaurant was not even edible. My artichoke dip had the consistency of soup!!

My only prior experience with cruises were to Carribean -- 2 Disney cruises w/family and 1 Carnival cruise for my honeymoon. This was my first time on an Alaska cruise.

Thank goodness we had a bunch of our friends on this cruise otherwise it would have not been fun. About half of the staff was nice, the rest were rude and unhappy. The good - we stayed in a Haven room. As a result we had a private restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Without that, the cruise would have been awful had we been in the battle that occurred each day in the public spaces and the buffet. Norwegian pearl horribly lacked seating...absolutely no outside along the decks.
