Nice Ports - Poor Cruise Experience

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

My wife and I have cruised more than 30 times. We have experienced the best that cruise life can offer. Unfortunately, our experience on Norwegian was quite disappointing. Our cabin steward failed to make up our room on two occasions (7 night cruise) resulting in us having to seek him out to do even the bare basics such as making up the bed and obtaining fresh towels. I did speak with the ...

NCL isn’t my first or even second choice!

We chose this cruise because people had told us NCL was good. We were disappointed. The disappointment started right after we boarded. The bar staff was rude and condescending, we never met our steward and our first mean at OSheehans restaurant was not even edible. My artichoke dip had the consistency of soup!! The ship itself was nice and clean and for the most part, the staff was friendly and ...

Norwegian Pearl May 2018

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

We chose Norwegian because we had cruised with them and the service and food were really good. Alaska May 2018. We had 3 mini suites, Cabin 11612, 11610, 11608. Three couples, one young adult and 3 kids ages 2, 6, and 9 years. We arrived a day early and stayed at Sutton Suites in Seattle. We took advantage of their cruise package where they pick you up from the airport, take you to the hotel, ...

Not Impressed for the Price

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

My only prior experience with cruises were to Carribean -- 2 Disney cruises w/family and 1 Carnival cruise for my honeymoon. This was my first time on an Alaska cruise. Generally my experience on this ship was far inferior to the other cruise lines. I'm not sure if it's destination related or cruise line related, but either way I was not impressed. At first we booked a oceanview room, which ...

I've been on many cruises but I will never cruise NCL again!

Thank goodness we had a bunch of our friends on this cruise otherwise it would have not been fun. About half of the staff was nice, the rest were rude and unhappy. The worst was in the Mojito bar, the 2 bartenders were completely rude both evenings we went in there for a drink. Our room steward we only saw twice, when we went to our room they were still cleaning and told us we had to come back ...

Unless you do The Haven, beware the Friends and Family Free Offer

The good - we stayed in a Haven room. As a result we had a private restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Without that, the cruise would have been awful had we been in the battle that occurred each day in the public spaces and the buffet. We also did specialty restaurants each night except one, also saving us. Lastly, we did the drink package, also a good thing. So all in all the cruise was ...

Bad things have happened since we sailed on her in 2016

We sailed on her in May 2016 for a 10 day to Seattle. WOW what has happened?? Food has gotten less desirable, even Cagney's was marginal, and no lobster. La Bistro was still nice and felt like it was special. So here goes. First let me say I truly dislike people who go on and on about something trivial but now I am one of them. My husband and I love to play a dominos game while we cruise. ...

ALASKA cruise was a Bore!

Norwegian pearl horribly lacked seating...absolutely no outside along the decks. Only around the pool (by the way i would never recommend this ship for warm weather sailing because the two pools and 4 jacuzzis are side by side....so every one on the ship would be crammed in to the same area). This ship is horribly lacking in entertainment!! It was a big waste of time and money!! We have sailed ...

The cruise of hidden fees, bad food and the word NO!

My family/friends and I (group of 6 – age 32-59) returned, on 9/17/2017, from a 7 day cruise to Alaska on the Norwegian Pearl. We chose the Pearl as the ship description stated that it was newly refurbished. We selected 3 ocean view balcony rooms at a very hefty expense. While I cannot say enough about the beauty of Alaska, I have a lot to report regarding the actual cruise itself. I have ...

Disappointing

Having sailed on the Norweigan Epic to the Mediterranean 5 years previously and enjoyed we opted to do a cruise with NCL which was entirely different. We decided to travel to Alaska. Coming from Barbados with a tropical climate year round we thought this would be a great experience. Embarking was ok, would you believe everyone had to discard the water or liquids they were drinking before ...
