Having sailed on the Norweigan Epic to the Mediterranean 5 years previously and enjoyed we opted to do a cruise with NCL which was entirely different. We decided to travel to Alaska. Coming from Barbados with a tropical climate year round we thought this would be a great experience.
Embarking was ok, would you believe everyone had to discard the water or liquids they were drinking before getting on the boat? That directive still baffles me.
There were three ladies in our party and we shared an inside cabin. The temporary bed was inconvenient as it was wedged between the 2 single beds in the cabin. Each one of us ladies has a back problem so climbing up and down to the overhead bunk was a no no.
It was a mistake to book an inside cabin, seeing that we had a balcony on previous cruise. it was claustrophobic and you had no idea of the tine of day. The cabin was kept in top shape by our steward Rene.
