Just returned from our family cruise which we took instead of exchanging gifts this past Christmas and we enjoyed getting away from the -degree temps in the north!! My husband, myself, our two daughters and son-in-law along with a friend and my sister and brother-in-law embarked on Jan 18, 2014 for a western cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel with 3 sea days. We flew down a day early ...

Our 48th cruise and it was wonderful. It is amazing how many people on the same cruise (1/11/2014) come away with different reviews. The ship was beautiful! All that beautiful glass. Hubby and I took this particular cruise just for the ship. We were very pleased with the beautiful Serenade of the Seas. Royal Caribbean's Radiance class ships are the perfect mid-size ships. Embarkation and ...

This was our 2nd time on Serenade of the Seas but the first time sailing her out of New Orleans. We are avid cruisers, our favorite vacation. I had read some of the reviews on cruise critic so was a bit curious to see what the ship was like since it was renovated recently. Found the ship to be very clean, loved the renovations and the new layout of the areas. We did sail about 90 minutes late out ...

Our trip was very nice ... we arrived Wednesday for a Saturday departure from NOLA. It was very cold for them at this time of year ... was mid/upper 60s and sunny on 3 of 4 days ... freezing cold with sleet on 1 day. Still, great food, music right in the streets, shops, WWII Museum, Mardi Gras World. The ship is old and smaller than I'm used to, but nevertheless very nice. 80s and sunny in Key ...

Pre Cruise DH and I stayed two nights in NOLA at the Hotel Provencial on Chartres St. in the Quarter; great place, which I’ll review on Trip Advisor. We had a wonderful time in NOLA doing the usual touristy things (my first time there) plus we met up with a group from our thread/Meet and Mingle at The Carousel Bar (in the Hotel Monteleone) the night before the cruise. This is a nice way to start ...

We just returned from our annual December foray into the Caribbean, this time having spent nine wonderful days and nights aboard Royal Caribbean's M/S Serenade of the Seas. We drove to the embarkation port in New Orleans, LA the day prior to sailing and overnighted at the Hyatt Place New Orleans Convention Center, which is directly across the street from the cruise terminal for Royal Caribbean ...

My wife and I were on the serenade of the seas for the New Year’s cruise to Key West, Nassau and Coco Cay. We had a Junior Suite (1076) and open dining times. The ship was great having been just refitted. The crew for the most part was very friendly and professional. Our cabin was very comfortable and Kevin, our attendant, was over the top. Vintages is a wonderful Wine Bar located on deck 6. The ...

This was my first longer cruise, going from and to places I'd never been before, on a ship the size of which I had never been on before. My first sight of Navigator of the Seas..."holy cr**!" Big was understating it - it was HUGE!!! Travelling with mobility issues makes it harder these days, but not with this cruise! From the moment we entered the cruise terminal in New Orleans, the staff of ...

I sailed with my wife and my 4 year old daughter. Boarding the ship took about one and one-half hours. I had arranged for our stateroom to be decorated for my daughters birthday and our anniversary. We arrived at our stateroom to find it beatifully decorated with a not for my wife and daughter from me. A great way to start the trip. I have been disappointed in the past by other cruise lines. ...

We flew into New Orleans the night before the cruise left. Stayed at an Airport Hotel and then had a taxi pick us up and take us straight to the cruiseport. Getting onto the ship was a breeze (platinum class helps) and then we took our first time cruiser on a quick tour of the Navigator of the Seas. This was our third trip on a Voyager class ship so began to feel like we knew our way around. ...
