Dining at sunset on formal night. We dressed but many folks did not. We wished we didn't also (less clothes to pack!)

We planned a Caribbean cruise for our retirement present and weren’t disappointed. Together with our 14yr old son and 16 yr old daughter we departed for Xmas cruise of the Eastern Caribbean taking in the islands of Labadee, San Juan Puerto Rico, Antigua, St Martin and St Kitts, aboard The Independence of the Seas. The first night on arrival in Miami was spent in the Turnberry resort, a ...

The food is terrible, the windjammer cafe does not have eggbeaters even though the main dining room does. The windjammer food is tasteless, overcooked, horrible food. The bakery at breakfast is store bought and frozen, the cookies are stale store bought and tastes terrible, same selection daily and most is overcooked and salty. We have to ask for skim milk 10 minutes before breakfast so someone can go ...

Ok, I've been on the Sister ships both the Freedom and Liberty four and six years ago, I always enjoyed these ships and thought the food was great at the time. I was aware that the Independence is getting a refit in a few months time but we were ok with that as the itinerary was good, five different islands over Xmas. What we were not prepared for however was the fairly terrible food ...

This was our second Christmas cruise with RCCL with the first one being in 2015 on the Serenade of the Seas. This was just as good, if not better!! We were happy to see Christmas caroling and midnight mass being offered again as well. What also pleasantly surprised us was the amount of people at midnight mass. The group that traveled was my family of 4 and my in laws. We had a total of three ...

Its our 50th wedding anniversary (Dec. 17,2017) so my husband and I decided to treat ourselves for the first time we go for Cruise. We're kind of nervous and do not know what to expect so invited our friends, so now we're total of 8 people. When we were at the port, I was so amazed with the size of the boat( I guess this is expected from a first time cruiser). Finaly we got inside, went to ...

Nice Christmas cruise, but missing the wow of previous RCL experience

This was our fifth Christmas cruise, but first on RCL. Loved all of the special Christmas activities and decorations. More focus on Christmas activities than other lines we have sailed. Ship was overall in great shape. Showed some wear and tear, but nothing terrible and headed to dry dock soon. Cabin was in a great location. Only three decks up or down to most public areas. Loved the ...

Background information - travelers were myself and my wife (early 30's) and our two boys (ages 3 and 1). It was a fairly last-minute vacation decision to get out of town and escape the cold, and we ended up getting a fairly good price on the trip. This was a) our first cruise with 2 children, and b) our first cruise without additional family/friends travelling with us, and one of the main reasons ...

This was my 8th cruise with Royal Caribbean. This time it just seemed like they weren't interested in anything but, "getting things done" not "making the experience great for the cruisers." The food was mediocre at best. I waited forever at the omelet station and then after I got to my seat and my friend,I went on the cruise with, was already done eating (which happened EVERY time we went ...

My husband and I like to explore when we vacation so we were hesitant to take a cruise but we decided to try it for our 22nd wedding anniversary and we're so glad we did! (Our hotel stay at Days Inn the night before was horrendous. Do not stay at Days Inn!) Getting on the ship took a little time as we expected but they handed out bottles of water. Once we were on, we got to our room with a balcony ...

Let me preface that I have been on about 16 cruises. Various lines. This one on IOTS was definately the worst by far. I book RCCL expecting the best. I was on a Carnival cruise that was by far a better experience. It seems like the ship is under staffed - which seems to permeate every aspect of the cruise. None of the workers seem happy. In turn, they aren't trying to make you happy. Lets start ...
