The Grandeur of the Seas is by far the worse ship I’ve ever been on by FAR. It was rumored that this ship was going to be retired a few years ago and it should have. I am not sure what sparked the decision to keep it floating and running trips—especially a 7 day cruise, but that was by far the worse decision you could’ve made from a customer perspective.
The entire ship is old and raggedy, ...
I wanted to take my daughter and my 2 oldest grandkids (ages 7, 8). Proximity to my location, and it was my 3rd cruise. The others were Royal Caribbean out of Galveston too. All of them have been short 4-5 day cozumel type cruises. This cruise ship was a lot smaller than the other 2 I've been on. There wasn't much to do outside. The pool was small and salty. The only other outdoor activities were ...
The whole thing began very badly, nearly deadly in fact. Within two hours of boarding we ate at the Windjammer, where apparently the chef puts cracked pepper in EVERYTHING. I have an anaphylactic response to peppercorns. There was no warning that it was in the food. It is a rare allergy but still, cracked pepper nor peppercorns belong in every dish. I tried something there a second time (pasta ...
Very disappointed with the ship and the staff. We knew when we booked the cruise the ship was old but did not expect to have uncomfortable beds and furniture in our suite that was like sitting on the floor. We had suites that were across the back of the ship and the decks were full of soot every time we pulled into port which made it impossible to use the deck until the cabins were cleaned. ...
Sailed out on November 11, 2014 down to Labadee, PR, St. Thomas and St. Maarten for a 10 day cruise. The weather and seas were terrific. Smooth silky waters both ways and great beautiful weather. But that is where things stopped being terrific. The food and service on this cruise was horrendous. I don't blame the crew as they are only doing their jobs and working with what they have. RCL needs to ...
The good and the bad: I did enjoy the entertainment, especially the Tango show and lessons, the Karaoke, the dance parties, etc. but the dining experience ruined it for me.
This was my 4th cruise, but my 1st from Baltimore. I am vegan and gluten free because I am allergic to dairy and gluten, but I have never had any issue. I usually just alert the staff and they make things I can have. This time ...
All I can say is that our toilet ran really loud.
Called guest services and they took the report about our toilet not flushing after pushing the button 3+ times and it had a delay of 5 minutes to flush. It was the worst!!
Then all the cabins on our deck starboard side were doing the same things!
Public toilets by the casino were not flushing either.
Oil or diesel smell down the deck 7
Islands ...
First, let me premise this review by stating we did not choose this ship. My in-laws were extremely generous in taking us on a family cruise, but we did not have the chance to participate in the planning. The travel agent recommended Royal Caribbean because of their "amazing" children's programs. She was not a good agent . . . she also told my in-laws (and us) about things on the ship that were ...
We just got back from our first cruise ever and were greatly disappointed with RC's Grandeaur of the Seas. Where do I start? I did not realize the "large inside cabin" would be so darn small. Wow, my bathroom at home is bigger than this thing. There was ample closet space, but good thing I brought more hangers and an alarm clock (serious, no clock??). The only high point was the Great Gatsby ...
We have sailed on Royal Caribbean before, and have recommended the cruise line to others. We thoroughly enjoyed our previous cruise with them.
We just came back from a 5 day Western Caribbean cruise on the Grandeur Of The Seas. We live in the Tampa Bay area, so just drove to the port. My husband is in a power chair, and they are quite helpful to us. They whisk us through the handicap area and we ...
