The whole thing began very badly, nearly deadly in fact. Within two hours of boarding we ate at the Windjammer, where apparently the chef puts cracked pepper in EVERYTHING. I have an anaphylactic response to peppercorns. There was no warning that it was in the food. It is a rare allergy but still, cracked pepper nor peppercorns belong in every dish. I tried something there a second time (pasta with WHITE sauce) and again had a reaction. Ridiculous. Most experienced chefs know about this allergy and regular ground pepper serves the same.purpose without the oils from.the peppercorn seed (which causes anaphylaxis. ) I could not enjoy the buffet EVER during the trip. They did take good care of me in their ER. The crew is friendly and knowledgeable.

The ship is in good shape for its age but it is far, far too small to be part of this amazing cruise line. You can feel every wave and it is really unpleasant. I don't get motion sickness, but the movement of the ship in CALM SEAS was really ridiculous. I am a fan of RC, just not this ship. The tickets were so cheap that (really hate to sound snobby here but...) I felt as if we were on a budget cruise designed for trashy people. They behaved badly, rudely, EXTEEMELY OBNOXIOUS, dressed skanky, I smelled BO more often than I care to mention, and they had NO CLUE what formal wear even is, and more. Then, when we got to our destinations, on our excursions, the music was 100% rap and pop from the United States. WHERE WAS THE ATMOSPHERE? Is it REALLY that much to ask to hear Mexican music on my MEXICAN excursions? There was NO SENSE that we were in Mexico, unless you count the fact that the locals hound, pester, and acost you at every turn for money... money... money. I lived in Belize for a while. I do sympathize with their level of poverty. BUT, to place signs in front of your business and to invite people inside is one thing. To behave like vultures and make guests miserable and uncomfortable is quite another. The same thing happens in all of Mexico, and I've been all over Central and South America, and other third world and developing nations. However, when these excursions are linked with RC, they CAN do something about it. It's not entrepreneurship. Its harrassment.

The cabins are so tiny and the ceiling so low that it feels exactly like being in a very small RV. In fact, the bathroom looks EXACTLY like an RV bathroom and you can forget shaving your legs in there. Better bring some Nair, cause it ain't happenin'.

Grand Suite

Too small. Too much like a really tiny RV.
