The ship was completely sold out, and yet it never felt crowded. Even after just boarding, had an excellent lunch in the dining room that was open instead of going to to Horizon Buffet. We had very good to excellent food in the “any time” dinning room —never waited in line by simply calling ahead for reservations for our group of four. Best surprise was the “Share” restaurant that has been ...
The Bad:This ship was run down, dirty and dated. Elevators were problematic, buttons not working long wait times, random functions. 2 of them were shut down for "routine maintenance". Most of the windows were dirty/salt crusted. (Guess they never heard of rain-x?) The buffet food was good but traffic had a terrible flow, obvious accompanying items not close together or on the same side of the ...
Seattle was a great place to choose to embark! It is a beautiful city and a way to begin a great cruise! From landing at the airport to embarking the ship, Princess lead the way smoothly! The ship and services of all involved were beautiful. The food is delicious. The patter included everything enjoyable. The excursions were worth the money and time! One word that describes the experience ...
Chose Emerald Princess as it had room for our large family group to travel to Alaska at the time most were available. We have traveled with Princess several times before, even on the Emerald Princess, & have always been most satisfied. Arrived in Seattle 2 days early before embarking to enjoy the city, which our family did, including the Space Needle & the Market, while residing at Marriott's ...
We were disappointed with Princess Cruises. Our family of 14 ranged from 7 months to 89yrs. The 89 yr old enjoyed herself but the teenagers, young adults and adults were are somewhat bored and disappointed. The shows were terrible and the young adults always left the show. Definitely not the caliber of RCCL’s Broadway shows!
There was not much for young adults and teens to do onboard the ship. ...
After having done approximately 20 cruises we wanted to try princess to Alaska. It was very disappointing. The food choices were lacking and quality was just ok. The ship has no ambiance and lacks any decor. Onboard activities were few and many were “commercially “ themed. Smoking places were few and not ventilated well. Casino was small.
Having said that the staff were friendly and the cabins ...
Family members encouraged the cruise and we wanted to back to the port city and eventually see Alaska. We visited the departure city for 3.5 days before embarkation and loved Seattle. The process to get on the ship was smooth but getting off the ship, we were at the airport almost 4 hours early. The service on the ship was well below average except in the club class dining area. The assistant ...
Overall, we felt this was a very nice cruise. Food was excellent, service was very good. There are about 1 staff to every 3 passengers, so you are provided very good levels of service in most areas.
I do feel the Ruby Princess bathroom in our cabin was dated and needed a thorough cleaning.
I am not at all a fan of buffet food delivery so i chose traditional dining and it was very nice. The ...

- Glad we pre-purchased the coffee card and water.
- Regret getting the soft drink package. Only used it a couple of times.
- Carried on a couple of 6 packs of soda and 2 bottles of wine. This worked out well for us.
- The Crown Grill was a waste of time and money. Service was slow and the food was poor.
- The Share restaurant was a wonderful experience, well worth the money.
- Well ...
