I went on the cruise with my best friend for spring break. We are both 21 years old. I had the time of my life on this cruise, and I’m looking forward to cruising with Norwegian in the future, but there were a few things that surprised me. We were not permitted on the tender boats to go to great stirrup day due to wind. It was really a bummer to get 1 day in the Bahamas on a 7 day cruise. We were ...
I really love the luxury of not having to fly to go on a cruise, New York is an hour and a half away and I am grateful that NCL has ships sailing from NYC port. The Bliss is a beautiful ship, very very up-to-date in every respect. I feel there is something for everyone onboard, from dining, entertainment, activities etc.
Embarkation was crowded BUT organized considering there were 4900 people ...
- Summary: we have cruised a number of lines (Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity, Holland America, Oceania.) This was our first cruise on NCL and was the best experience we have had on a mass-market line. Excluding Oceania which is our favorite but in a different price bracket. We would definitely use NCL again if they have itineraries/prices that suit us.
- This cruise was chosen ...
We were on the Bliss last week 3-24/3-1 to the Bahamas from NYC.
This is our 9th cruise with ncl. Also cruised with Royal and Carnival.
We live up in the Hudson Valley NY and had a kid drive us to the terminal from Astoria about a half hour away from the terminal.
I gave the longshoreman a nice tip up front and he took our luggage out of the trunk for us and that was that.
There was a ...
Loved the fact it was two weeks and at the time of year when we needed a break.
Beautiful new ship. Observation Lounge was very spacious, maybe too spacious as itwas half empty a lot of the time. Food was okay but not great. Better on the Escape.
Layout was good but prefer the Escape here as well. The entertainment/shows were inadequate for the number of days we were on the cruise ship, ...
We had been on an NCL cruise and stayed in the Haven ( Gem) and twice in a regular mini suite ( Breakaway and Pearl). For us, the Haven is the only way we would go on NCL. We live in the NY Metro area so driving a half hour to the ship is a terrific perk. This two week cruise was an easy choice and getting a nice discount from the casino ( NCL is very generous) helped lower the price. I will start ...
My husband and I booked this cruise as an adult get-away. We had a wonderful time on the ship and at the ports. Embarkation was supposed to be delayed, due to an illness outbreak, but people were allowed on the ship earlier than announced. Our departure from the port was delayed, but we grabbed a couple drinks and explored the ship and enjoyed the view of New York City. The ship itself was large ...
I have to open this review with the caveat that we stayed in the Haven. Haven passengers have a completely different experience than those not in the Haven. If you take anything from this review, know that I would rather cruise once every other year in The Haven, than annually in a standard room. With that said, the Bliss is a beautiful ship! The observation lounges (Haven and public) are a ...
Well now, here we are, back from the Bliss which was overall a good to very good cruise (B+) vacation.
This is my 7th NCL cruise and my 13th voyage overall. As a family of four, we'd always talked about going away over New Year's and after Christmas. We spent the night before embarkation in NYC: taking in the 9/11 Memorial and Museum (not so cheery but so well done), eating at Patsy's, and ...
Overall, had an enjoyable experience on the NCL Bliss on an 8 day voyage over Christmas 2019. The Bliss is modern and clean, with plenty of activities and entertainment, and dining/drinking options and quality are good enough. However, there are also some hiccups in the design, cabin noise, children's programs and crowded nature of activities. For the cost, was a great value (especially over ...
