Review of Norwegian Bliss based on its Maiden Voyage - April 21, 2018 12 Day Transatlantic (TA) Cruise Background: This review is based in part on comparisons with our past experience on 2 Celebrity TA’s, 1 Cunard QM2 TA, 1 Celebrity TP and 2 Celebrity Caribbean Cruises. We have no connection with the travel industry. At the time of our Bliss TA, starting from Southampton UK on 4/21/18, the ...

The opportunity to go on our first trans-Atlantic cruise, on a brand new vessel, with our favourite cruise line was too much to refuse. All of our party were at work the day before the sailing, as we live in the UK and have visited Southampton on several occasions in the past, we travelled down on the morning of the cruise. A four hour car journey meant we were in plenty of time for the scrum ...

Somehow we expected more for an inaugural cruise

Review for Norwegian Bliss to Transatlantic

First the Pros: Embarkation and debarkation were swift slowed only on debarkation because many non-USA had to be photographed and fingerprinted. The ship still had the ‘new-car’ smell. The Observation Lounge was spectacular with 180-degree ocean views, sides and top. The bars were numerous. Opportunities for dining, snacking or just sitting were more than adequate. The layout of the Atrium was ...

Well, this is our 10th cruise with NCL and we were not disappointed. We've mainly been on the smaller ships like Jade etc, but did do Epic recently and it kind of worried us as we didn't like that so much. No fear though, the Bliss is excellent. Design, decor and ambience feel much classier. Beautiful layout, loads of places to relax and watch the world go by. Service superb as always, ...

Southampton to New York

The embarkation and disembarkation processes were both fine, no problems or delays at either Southampton or New York. I must confess that the balcony stateroom i received was extremely small (not even 140sqft), wardrobe is just so closed to the bed and very difficult to get in out anything out of it (and i am skinny). Bathroom was ok, no complaints. Dining venues were fine, as the ship has a ...

A Wonderful Experience and Crew

Review for Norwegian Bliss to Transatlantic

This was our first ever transatlantic crossing and we wanted to experience this brand new, beautiful ship. We had a great experience and were still very busy everyday of this 12-day cruise. The only thing we didn't do is pay for the Thermal Suite, which I thought was way over priced at almost $20 per day (the Breakaway was $10 per day). The Haven staff was outstanding, the food fantastic, and ...

Inaugural Bliss

We did the first transatlantic trip on this boat. The ship is beautiful, the staff attentive and the food was sublime. Well it should be as they had pulled the best of the best crew for this trip. There was some training in evidence and we did have some snagging going on but I personally had no problem with this. I did have a problem with the extremely limited smoking facility. It was ...

Great Transatlantic

NCL did an amazing job on the Bliss. The observation lounge and race track were great added features. Silas, the cruise director, Mandy, the asst. cruise director, and the rest of the entertainment crew did a great job at keeping everyone's interest at the different activities on board. The new restaurants were also very good. You won't leave Q or Los Lobos hungry. If you go to Los Lobos, ...

Wonderful New Flag Ship for NCL

I’ve taken out on inaugural trips the latest Norwegian ships since the Epic, so Bliss was the latest. Having sailed Escape in 2015 I was familiar with the core layout and so concentrated on what is different for this ship. The bad points first (then we will get to the good points). No Moderno ☹️. My favourite restaurant in the fleet has been replaced by a Mexican which I didn’t fancy. ...

Great New Ship

We wanted to take a cruise that would start in Southampton and land in New York. The food, entertainment (Havana, Jersey Boys) and the amenities on the ship was excellent. The staff, seeing that this was a new ship, was very well coordinated, well trained, extremely polite and very efficient. The games that they had during the off night of major stage productions were well presented and executed ...
