We choose MSC for the price & destinations and we werent dissappointed. We were however disappointed with some staff not being too friendly or helpful like other cruise lines. We did back to back cruises and we seen the difference between RCC and MSC staff. I think its a language barrier or skill set? Great size cabin and always clean, we did however have issues with the bed side lamp not tunring ...
this was good value for money! The cabin was excellent - the shower one of the best The staff were hardworking but far too few in number. This caused disjointed service in the dining room and bars. There was a lot of queuing for the buffets. Portions were relatively small - "oatcakes" with smoked …. was one oatcake. The surf and turf restaurant which was an extra charge was excellent. We opted for ...
I've cruised once before on the discovery 2 and enjoyed so had high hopes for this "new" ship and could directly compare. On the Explorer 2 there was the same great entertainment, more choice in sunbathing areas (loved the Veranda), bars (loved Flutes) and restaurants (loved Nonnas! + the terrace was a nice extra) and although the food in Latitude was good but it definitely wasn't nearly as good ...
We joined the cruise after 4 nights in Naples.
Embarkation and disembarkation procedures were fine and pretty quick. The cruise had embarkation and disembarkation at each port so it was quite easy with staggered numbers.
Cabins are lovely and fresh and quite spacious, even for an interior. The MSC Zoe assistant is useless though. Selection of TV channels is mostly news with very no English ...
We have sailed on the Seaside two previous times and had very good experiences. This time, things certainly changed ! Dining room dinners were substandard for sure, although our dining room staff were very nice and did a good job, doesn't make up for the food. Terrible selections and poor quality of entrees, the specialty restaurants were nothing short of perfect. We should not have to pay ...
I have a child and this cruise offered interesting places, at the right time, offering a kids club..
While the rooms were clean and neat and the food ok, the real downside was our noisy cabin right above a night club disco.
They were unable to move anyone and as the bass was so strong and volume so loud I tried to have the music level lowered. There was lip service paid to my complaint, ...
My husband and I booked this cruise Aug 28-Sept 7 - it had a great itinerary which is the only reason we chose it. We are older (64) so booked the Aurea Suite which included quite a lot and alcohol. There are so many kids on this ship, it wasn't funny. I gather kids travel free. This cruise started in Florence (Livorno), worst port ever. We were supposed to get priority status with our booking, ...
Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly, but probably because people were getting on/off in different ports.
Our cabin was ready by 11.30. We had someone elses luggage delivered to our cabin. Sorted out fairly quickly.
Cabin was clean and our steward was friendly and efficient.
The public areas were quite nice. Quite crowded in the evening.
The food was of very poor quality and ...
We booked this cruise on 2 aspects, ports of call and being a new ship. We purchased the Aurea package with the focus on my time dining and drink package.
We boarded in Naples, what chaos! As they began boarding the Select room packages, the crowd erupted, people fighting and yelling. MSC, did not handle this with any professionalism or organization.
Generally ship is a cross in design of ...
I would avoid this ship. It is not large or well-staffed enough to handle its own crowd of customers. The Mediterranean port cities are excellent, on the other hand!
I was on the Meraviglia during its second week of cruising, embarked from Naples for a seven day cruise with extended family. My family of four (two kids, 5 and 2) were in our veranda room with us, in the Aurea class on deck 14. ...
