DAY 1: Embarkation Day
We had a 10:30-11:00 check-in time. We were on-board before 11:00. Getting on-board early isn’t as smart as I thought it would be. The Windjammer hadn’t opened yet nor had the eMuster Stations.
When the Windjammer finally opened up we discovered that I was still the worst buffet at sea. Too small and too few selections.
By 1pm we had completed or eMuster Drill ...
Having just returned from a cruise on Symphony of the Seas I wanted to write an honest review of this ship. We have cruised on both Royal and Celebrity in the past and have seen a big difference in the past few years.
The main difference recently is in the Main dining room for evening meals. The menu always had choices on the day but also had "classics" which were available every day if you ...
This was my 3rd solo cruise on the Divina since October and my 4th MSC cruise in the last year. All have been good, but this one was great, primarily because of the people I met and group at my table. We had a great time and did many activities together.
The boarding process was the fastest I have experienced. I arrived at the port at 10:40 for an 11:00 AM scheduled boarding and was at the ...
The portage through the Panama Canal was amazing and to think it was accomplished before bulldozers and earth movers! It is still a marvel and a tribute to the people that built it.
Sirena is an older and smaller ship. I personally liked the smaller ship since it was so much easier to get around. I am not sure how many passengers were onboard but the only time it was crowded was when there ...
Background Information
This was our 3rd MSC cruise (28th overall for me, 29th overall for my husband) - we'd previously sailed on Seaside and Meraviglia (the latter in Yacht Club).
Travel to Embarkation Port
We flew into Ft. Lauderdale one day early and took a Lyft Preferred to our hotel in Miami (cost $43).
For our pre-cruise night, we chose the Hampton Inn and Suites Miami Wynwood ...
Service
We always have excellent service from room stewards, dining room staff, and other crew members on Royal Caribbean. They are friendly and leave a genuine impression that they are trying to give you a great vacation experience. We had only one miscommunication regarding changing our dining time, which they were able to fix without any issue. Some of the crew doesn't speak the very best ...
I was not as enchanted by the Symphony of the Seas this time. We had been on it in early 2020 before the cruise industry was shut down, so this was our second time on the ship.
We started the cruise on a Saturday, and on Wednesday I became violently ill with norovirus. Our friends, who had gone on the cruise with us, also became sick, as did some others I spoke with. I have cruised for many ...
Booked this cruise with my sister to celebrate her 50th BD since our original plans were canceled in 2020. I am platinum and my sisters first cruise.
Embarkment was easy, appointment was 10am and boarding A01, arrived at 9:45am and walked right in quickly to lounge and on ship 10:45am.
As platinum, we can go right to room, get our keys and luggage should arrive quickly.
Room not ready, ...
This was a last minute cruise for my mom 83 years old, and I, 57. Cruise was fine, no real issues. Even though we had anytime dining, we never ate in the dining room. The same items were available in the buffet, and the food was fine. Not a fan of the Pizza, not much sauce and crust was like cardboard. Delicious sandwiches in the Deli area. Casino did not treat me well till the last two nights. ...
Had a fun weekend cruise, our first with MSC. Ship was full. Considering the price, it was def worth it, despite the long list of ’con’s below.
pros:
- Easy, quick embarkation and disembarkation
- The kids club was the best we’ve seen (out of several cruise lines). Really fun activities for the kiddos.
- Main dining room food was excellent and tasty.
- Ocean Cay was great.
- We ...
