When we decided to book a Norwegian cruise, the main selling point was the trip to Great Stirrup Cay. Once we arrived at the island, the captain of the ship announced we wouldn't be going to shore, instead we went straight to Nassau. My second issue with this cruise was the lack of hot water. For 3 days, my family and I had to take cold showers. When I brought the issue up to guest services, they told me I wasn't turning the faucet to the right side. Also, the kids club was supposed to supply activities and entertainment based on the child's age. Well, my son is 10 and the activites were designed for younger kids. On top of that, the wifi was nonexistent. I could not check and respond to m I work emails. I missed several important emails and deadlines. All in all, my recommendation is STAY AWAY. Read Less

This was our first cruise. I was afraid I would get seasick so we chose the 3 day cruise to the Bahamas with Liberty. I did not get seasick but I hated the cruise. The balcony room was fine but needs to be updated, carpeting is bad and shower kept overflowing because the drain was slow. Left notes in the cabin but nothing was done. Food at the buffet terrible, even Guy's burgers that everyone online said was terrific. Just a greasy mess! Food in dining room was better but still not as good as the restaurants I usually go to. Very disappointed. I absolutely hated Nassau. So dirty looking and traffic was very bad. The shops were dirty and junky merchandise. We went to Atlantis and what I saw on TV was not what was really there. It may have been terrific when it opened up but it is in need of painting and updating. We went to the aquarium and was talked into paying 45 pp for a ticket to see a world famous aquarium. It was hardly anything to talk about. I am originally from Chicago and our aquarium was top of the line compared to this small aquarium. I felt sad for the fish! The one thing I hated the most was all the lines, waiting to get on,waiting to get off the ship and lines everywhere on the ship. The small pools and hot tubes always filled and looking pretty worn. The windows have NEVER been washed so even in the dining areas looking out is the pits. The other cruise ships were washing all windows but the Liberty only washed the top of the lobby and that must be years of grime on all the other windows in the ship, adding to the need to refurbish this mess of a ship. No more cruising for me. They say the longer cruises and bigger ships are even worse with the lines and for me this is not a vacation. I needed a vacation after this cruise! They need to stay in port one day in-between cruises and clean everything. Not enough time to get this ship in shape and it needs it. Carnival only cares about money and not the people using this ship. Read Less

So we followed this ship from concept to delivery and made sure that we were one of the first to sail her as a fare paying passenger. Flight from UK to Miami with BA was great and we stayed in Miami at the Four Seasons prior to travelling to Port Everglades. Embarkation whilst busy was good and we were onboard nice and early. Cabin--the famous infinite verandah we thought was quite poor. We certainly did not feel as if we were in a balcony cabin and the doors seperating the so called balcony from the room were a little flimsy. We could not open our "infinite verandah" window on quite a few ocassions due to an override system. The whole concept we felt was a little wrong and a little cheap looking. Nothing else to report on the cabin but all in all disappointing considering the price we paid. Top deck is a little weird to say the least. Others have mentioned that it appears a little cheap and tacky and that in truth was our impression also. They have a massive large screen in the roof top garden that blares out American sports thats sometimes disperesed by some reggae band who had 3 songs in their repoitoire. Sunset bar at the back is not a patch on the bar on Solsctice Class ships. Food in general is ok--we ate every night in one of the MDR restaurants whilst buffeting lunch and breakfast. We were a little concerned about the temperatures of some of the buffet items being served but were assured that all was ok. EDEN--what a mess--what a silly concept, what a silly concept poorly executed--in our opinion. We went once and never set foot in it again--plain weird--tacky plastic chairs, smoke filled room etc etc etc. All in all for what we paid, the service we received, the stateroom we were allocated etc this was probably the worst ship we have ever been on and we sailed on Anthem of the Seas once!! SAVE your money - SAVE your time - SAVE your breath for complaining, you will need it. We were SUITE CLASS guests travelling in a Sky Suite so we had access to The Retreat with our fare. Firstly, lets just say this ship is not your "typical Celebrity experience" . There is no secluded Micheal's Club with an intimate gentlemens club feel. There is no luxurious Luminae Restaurant with comfortable seating, attentive servers and SMILES with flavorful food. There is no special "INVITE" to meet the Senior Officers. And no music you can listen too to relax. The first mistake Celebrity Cruises made was they recruited or elevated staff from other ships that are all PRIMADONNAS. Any HR person will tell you - primadonnas don't work well with each other. We saw staff walk right by others with no team work, no acknowledgments to each other or the GUESTS. The manager in The Retreat was from the Reflection vessel (which he did an OK job) - well on this ship he is in Over His Head. The Retreat was a mess.....No serving staff, stuck up Concierges, dirty toilets, and when food came out - it RAN OUT - and was never replaced. All the chairs in The Retreat are so UNCOMFORTABLE, it makes you want to leave as soon as you sit down. Plus, don't even get me started on the private pool deck with no shade, terrible drinks that you have to pay for unless you have a drink package, and tables glued to the deck floor so you can't move them nor set a drink on them. JUST AWFUL. The entire experience was NOT CELEBRITY worthy. Watch out for the REVOLUTION on the Solstice Class ships. It won't be the only REVOLT Celebrity will see.. Read Less

Well the ones that weren't canceled * There were NO events held by the pool or at half moon cay * the shows were either very late, repeats of the last 3 years or there were none to attend * the departures at the ports were complete cluster disasters - unorganized would be an understatement * the food that didnt taste like fish was okay * the room across the hall smelled like pot 90% of the time * elevators rarely worked * wallpaper peeling on almost every wall * returned my drink several times because it tasted terrible Rooms were kept clean is the ONLY positive I have to say This was over priced and a huge disappointment. We chose this ship because it is new and we fell for the hype. It was a bad mistake and we will never sail on this ship again. The ship's designers apparently have never sailed on a cruise ship before. The closest elevator to our cabin was over 300 feet away and they were always crowded. There were so many design flaws in the cabin layout and the public areas I would have to write a book just to point out the worst ones. The main dining rooms have a fixed menu that apparently never changes and they wouldn't take reservations, it's first come, first serve. Shipboard activities were restricted to the casino, bars, marketing shore excursions and overpriced shops. The most entertaining activity was the life boat drill. This ship is not child friendly with many small breakable "art" objects within reach of small hands, such as a model ship made out of stringed pearls just the right size to shove up your nose. The new class of ship from Celebrity called the Edge was getting a lot of hype so we wanted to go on a preview cruise. We had been on the Reflection in October and loved it. If you like Solstice class, you should skip the Edge. It’s cheap looking with tacky decor and plastic furniture. The ‘wood’ looks like laminate. Cheap cheap cheap. The infinity veranda is a joke. After we boarded, the window was locked per the captain’s orders. It was 85 degrees in our minuscule cabin and we couldn’t open the ‘veranda’. What a joke. The infinity veranda is nothing but a scam to make smaller staterooms seem like they’re bigger. It doesn’t work. The rooms are small and completely non functional. It took me 10 minutes to find the USB port- hidden in a white box on the desk. Why? The closet is so small that I can’t believe it. Back to the infinity veranda - the name insults my intelligence. If you are over 5’ Tall and are sitting on the ‘infinity’ veranda you look straight at a metal bar. You can’t see the horizon. Very poor design. We were supposed to have a queen bed, we got two twins. Staff doesn’t know where anything is. Layout of the ship is counterintuitive. Elevators are packed. Definitely not enough capacity. I’m going to post separately about the security fiasco at the port in Ft Lauderdale. Shocking. Read Less

We choose this cruise due to proximity of our Thanksgiving Holiday and timing of the trip. We ignored some of the less favorable reviews hoping they were exaggerated. Boy was that mistake. Day one, we get food poisoning from the Pizza. Ended up puking in the room for the first 24 hours. Told half dozen staff members about it. Nobody seemed to care. Nothing was done to address the problem that I am aware. Did not even receive an apology from anyone. I also observed that most of the hand sanitizers were empty around the ship as I tried to use them. The food in general was a huge disappointment. Buffet was mostly salad bar without good toppings. No cheese or bacon bits here. They did offer large bowls of plain kidney beans, garbonzo beans, sliced cucumbers and plenty of radishes but the ranch dressing was always empty. The semi-edible food like tacos and seafood cost extra, including room service. Soup was watery and the meats looked like pre-packaged lunchmeat from the grocery store that was laid out on a slab. The burgers were literally the only thing we could stomach. Those were served from noon to 6pm only. Ice cream machines were often empty and not once did I see an actual cone available. We ended up eating ours from coffee cups. If you like toppings, better bring your own and after 7pm they only offer one flavor. The rest of the deserts were in the back of the Lido with a sign on them saying "buffet closed". In other words, never available. Breakfast meat was literally cut up hot dogs with what looked like left over peas from the night before, not kidding. Gross! I went for a bamboo massage which they charged almost $200 for. The facility was a far cry from spa like. The locker room reminded me of my high school gym locker. They did not offer a robe for me to change into for my service. I was shuffled into the massage room and asked to hang my stuff on a hook on the wall next to the shower stall. The therapist raked bamboo over my spine and it ended up bruising a vertebra so badly that I get a severe migraine headache. I was confided to my room for 48 hours before it subsided enough for me to leave. I reported that incident four times over a two day period before anyone bothered to call and ask me what happened. Don't get me started and the so called entertainment. Build-a-bear was the big event one day. One musician in the casino was playing guitar against a recorded track. At one point he just gave up and let the recording play solo. I actually had to walk up and ask him to start playing his guitar again. The piano player asked for requests and then did not know how to play any of them. Rock music on the back of ship was blaring from what sounded like blown speakers. I think the smoke eater in the casino was broken as you could smell the cigarettes smoke on that entire floor and on the steps leading to that deck. There were three female violinists that were lovely to listen too. That was literally the only pleasurable entertainment experience we had. The facilities themselves were very sad and not well maintained. The backs of the booths were falling off. They napkins actually looked like used oil rags, as pictured. The closets smelled like other peoples dirty clothes. We assuming the bed sheets were very clean as they reeked of bleach. Gift shop was devoid of anything I would want to have, cheap quality all the way around. The caliber of this boat is beyond bad. Rude people, nasty old boat, terrible food and rotten entertainment choices (except for violinists). We actually felt like prisoners trapped in a nightmare we could not escape from. We couldn't leave fast enough. I wouldn't wish this vacation on my worst enemy. Read Less

I just want to tell everyone pick a different cruise line. The only thing going for them is the wait staff and cruise director and spa staff. So lets begin so we board the ship and go to our room to start my wife's birthday cruise and in our room was supposed to be a large tropical bouquet and balloons cake and more..... We open the door and i'm hoping she is going to be happy with her surprise and nothing!!! As noting in the room but a very small bouquet and that was it.. So i call the front desk and ask where is my $182.dollars worth of stuff to surprise my wife they said they would check this is at at 4:20 pm so we go explore the ship and come back after be gone for 3 hours and still nothing i call again. They tell me they are working on it.so we do late dinner and come back to the room with the decorated with paper balloons and still no change with the flowers. The next morning i go down to the desk and asked for help they tell me they will call me about the flower and fix it.. So we get ready for our fun day in nassau we get to our boat and the weather is awesome we board the boat going to the private island and after waiting 30min they tell us our excursion is canceled our trip and the held us there. When the finally told us we could go. I ask what else could we do they told us we had to go back to the ship and see. So we did i went to the excursion desk and the lady they said we could go scuba diving and nothing else of we could just go to the public beach which if you do you home work you will find its advised not to do. So i go to the customer service desk and ask for help the tell me the will will refund my excursion money but i'm want my wife to have fun she only turns fifth once so can you help me they call the excursion desk and they told the desk the same we can go diving. So they tell me sorry nothing we can do. You can enjoy the boat or the shops in nassau. So 1pm and now three other boat have ported so place is packed so i take her to paradise resort buy taxi and try to make the best of it no thanks to carnival..we get though saturday. And finally sunday morning get a call from the vp of customer service at 11am telling me that she was going to send someone to take a picture of the flower and send it to corporate and i could handle it with them. Well them never showed to take the picture so i took one myself.. So monday when we got of the boat i called the customer service line and told everything that happened and the guy that works for the carnival told he was sorry but there is nothing he can do..... I will never ever take a cruise on this line again it was the worst experience of any cruise or trip i have ever taken. We wanted to take a family vacation with an option for character breakfasts and activities that cater to our three year old. I was really looking forward to three days of not thinking about activities and entertaining, while enjoying my family. We booked the Mariner of the Seas over a year ago after confirming with THREE RC agents that there will be Dreamworks characters on the ship, along with breakfast, parade, etc. After all, their website advertised the dreamworks experience with no indication that this may change. After we payed our deposit with this promise (literally had the agent promise….otherwise I would have booked a vacation in Orlando), I got a notice that the Mariner will no longer be offering the Dreamworks experience and the ship will be renovated to cater to the millennial crowd-complete with a surfing simulator, monster water slides, and a tiki bar. So basically they were taking away everything that got us to sign onto the trip and replacing it with nothing that was age-appropriate for either my three year old or us 40 year old non-millenials. Knowing that this is going to turn into a trip where I am now going to have to get creative with entertain activities (like I do every day at home…looking for a break to just have fun w the fam!), we tried to cancel. RC refused to refund our deposit because according to the fine print they can change anything they want at any time. As a consolation, they offered an octopus stuffed animal for my daughter which boldly advertises their logo and one dinner at a specialty restaurant. I requested the most kid-friendly at the earliest available time, and was given Chops (most upscale) at 7:30 PM (30 min before bedtime). The icing on the cake was months later I got another email letting me know that babysitting services I was told would be available for when my daughter goes to sleep were discontinued.. The corporate office suggested we “throw” our daughter in their child-care on the ship, not quite understanding that we actually wanted to spend our time with our daughter. We were promised that there would be family storytime (nope). We were promised that our daughter would be able to ice skate (started at 8 PM…bedtime). We were promised waterslides (my daughter was too little for the waterslides). Laser tag was not even an option for her. The climbing wall and VR were a tease for her. On the last day, the schedule said there would be a kid’s movie by the pool-we cut our visit to Nassau short to make it to the movie that never happened even though it was on the schedule. Instead, they showed a video about extreme sports. There were three 30-minute family activities a day, one of which started at 8:30 PM, and many of which were not age-appropriate. They said we can enjoy the pool, and I explained that we have a pool in our backyard..thats not a big deal to us. I was assured this trip would be just as fun and mindless with tons of things for us to do as a family. It was not at all what I signed up for. Total bait and switch. The cruise itself was well-run and the staff were perfect. No doubt this is a great trip for pre-teens, teenagers, or young adults. It us not the ship for a three year old. The announcements at 10 PM reviewing all of the evening activities woke her up every night. The child care appeared to be clean and the staff was super-nice, however if I was going to go on a vacation to be without my child, I would leave her with grandma! We wanted a trip with Dreamworks experience as advertised and by their staff (we did not use an outside travel agent). Although I have been cruising with RCCL since I was 14 years old (and hoping to continue the family tradition of RCCL family cruises), I do not see myself patronizing their company in the future with the way this was handled. There are too many vacation companies that would have handled this in a more honorable way. We are truly disappointed that we were sold a trip that was not what we experienced and will be dealing with more honest companies in the future. I have such a sour taste in my mouth with RCCL after the way they handled this. They lied to us…oh but there is the fine print so its ok… Read Less

We chose this cruise as it one of the few that sailed from Charleston, SC. Boy, what a huge mistake. I am going to keep it simple and list the positive and negatives. Positives - * Port was closer to us. Negatives - * Old Ship so the facilities were outdated. * Terrible food. The deserts were average, my kids never had a second helping of any desert which is rare :-) * Kid activities were bad. They were bored to death most of the time. * Ship was constantly wobbly leading to motion sickness. I guess this can be attributed to some rough weather, but it was really crazy at times with plates literally flying off the dining area. * Icing on cake was my lost luggage. I filed a complaint at port on disembarking. When I called back to enquire first I was told to call UPS. I call UPS they said to call back after 2 weeks which is their 'waiting period'. I call back carnival and they tell me I have to call within 30 days and I am past that date. Read Less

We ran into bad weather the first two days which the captain stated he did not expect. Over half of our party was sick along with members who were working on the cruise ship. We were unable to do anything and spent both days sick. The ship was not equipped to handle the bad weather. Captain should have taken us somewhere else. Vomit was in the halls, elevators, and dining areas. Worst cruise for Thanksgiving ever and it was our first family cruise with over 18 people. Ship did not have lip sync battle and activities that were postpone were never reschedule. Food was like cafeteria food. The Chefs Table served the exact same menu as the Carnival Fantasy in Mobile, Alabama which we traveled on in 2016. Nothing was different from the appetizers down to the dessert. For almost $200 it was a waste of money for the same experience. The only good thing was Roy who was our cabin steward. Nothing special about this ship very outdated. Customer service did absolutely nothing when I filled a complaint for our group. After a year of planning this family vacation it was a waste of time and money. Read Less

I booked this cruise because the travel agent I was working with said that the ship was undergoing a renovation that would be completed by the time I was scheduled to sail. This was not correct. If there were renovations completed, then they were in areas that were not in the general public viewing area. Decorative molding was missing on the walls. I was planning to spend time in the very small casino, to add insult to injury, there is not a non-smoking part of the casino. My plans to have fun in the were ruined. The cigarette smoke migrated out of the casino, exposing patrons to second-hand smoke. The casino is located on the same deck as one of the dining rooms. My stateroom had a urine smell and two attempts were made to shampoo the carpet and it did not resolve the issue. I was offered another stateroom on day 4 (this was a 5 day cruise) by a manager named Anselmo Torres, who initially gave me fake compliments on my appearance, offering me a bottle of wine, and then offered another cruise at a discounted rate, all of which I found to be laffable and down right insulting. Two out of the four scenic elevators were inoperable the entire duration of the cruise. See pictures, causing a delay in traveling between decks. Some elevators skipped a floor because too many people were on them. Spent most of the time taking the stairs because at one point, three attempts were made to get on an elevator that was full due to the other inoperable elevators. When addressing my concerns with guest relations, there were other patrons who were experiencing the same issue regarding unauthorized charges to their staterooms. Several attempts were made by them to get the charges removed and were unsuccessful. I witnessed two RCI employees switch over to speaking Spanish when discussing a patron's bill in front of the patron. This was totally disrespectful and insulting. The drink package was not worth the money. Please do not purchase them. Please check your stateroom charges, request a final statement, and make sure RCI corrects any discrepancies before disembarking the ship. My father was billed for a drink he never had. Went to guest relations 5 times, my father spoke to guest relations 3 times and when I checked my credit card statement, the final stateroom bill did not match my credit card statement. I called the corporate office this morning. They record your conversations to try to catch you in a lie, but when you confront them on something they were at fault for, they do not admit their faults, they just attempt to wordsmith what they say because they know that they are being recorded. This is some of the most unprofessional form of customer service I have ever experienced. Word of mouth is very important and I will be sure to never recommend RCI to anyone. It really upset me that my very first time on a cruise was one of the most terrible experiences I've had. I hope to try again with another cruise line. RCI does not deserve another chance. Read Less

The good: I’m a Platinum member. I have NEVER posted a negative comment or review. The bad: What a waste of money and vacation days. Service was not there at all. Yes some staff was good but overall it seemed like you were ignored. Food quality dropped 100% since sailing in the summer. Filet mignon in Cagneys had serious fat on it! Gross! Port days were a joke to stay onboard. NOTHING was open and the daily had certain bars, restaurants open at a certain times and they were not. Example was pool bar. 11am turns to 1pm??? The ugly: (1) Private functions. One example was in the district brew house. You are already comfortable and enjoying your beer, book, etc. and you are told “sorry you will not be able to get anything from the bar until the function ends BUT you are welcome to stay. What?? The function was meet the officers which we were invited to but were not there to do. Literally Absurd. (2) Knowing the smoking haters will chime in here please mind your own business as this is not for your information but for anyone that does smoke - don’t bother booking this ship especially because you are treated as an outcast and are discriminated as such. Choose to book elsewhere if you smoke. Our friends were totally disgusted. (3). Children ran amok and parents....oh did they have any? I am out of space so I am done with this write up. Read Less

The entire ship smelled like sewage, which made it hard to enjoy sitting outside at all. Our room smelled. I had a headache most of the time. The door to the dining room completely came off in my hand. There were spit balls on the ceiling of the room, there was a ring in the toilet the entire time as if it hadn't been cleaned, one of the lights in the bathroom was old and broken, the towel rack was broken and left on the floor by housekeeping, our toilet broke on several times which prevented us from flushing the toilet, the drain in the sink had a slimy mildew on it which caused the sink to stop up and drain slow. The towels had stains on them and were dingy. The carpets in the halls sunk in when you walked. It was a mess to say the least. I have reached out to their customer service department about this several times and I'm still waiting on a response. I even made complaints on the ship, and was never given the option to move. The food was extremely bad like I’ve never tasted and seen such bad food in my life. The excursion of the jeep was amazing and very worth it and the deal of 10 drinks for 70+taxes was good. The drinks itself are not that good tasted kind of bad and more water and ice than alcohol. Also they did not have buffet 24 hours, the dinning included in the cruise fare the waitresses were not helpful at all and not interested in making the experience comfortable. The only thing I can say I feel it was worth paying and that I enjoyed to the fullest was the Jeep excursion it was amazing every bit of it. As per this cruis I will definitely NOT be coming back. I want to start with the positives. * The comedians (Vince Morris is a true standout!), manager, and staff at the comedy club were terrific. * Our room was fine and our room steward was terrific. I'm sorry that I don't recall his name. * The drinks were made with plenty of liquor (or maybe it was the fact that we tipped on top of the bill because of the Great Gratuity Debate). * Embarkation and Debarkation were seamless and easy. Our only delay was in Nassau and Carnival was not to blame (please remember to take your room key with you every time you debark the ship folks). Much better than our previous experiences. Nassau was interesting. We chose to walk it instead of go on a tour. We don't regret it. This can be a fun way to explore a new area. We live in FL, so a tropical beach isn't a novelty for us and we know that you don't truly see a city until you get beyond the tourist areas. Now for everything else (in no particular order). Most of the food was passable, but bad. The 3 exceptions were the Seafood Shack and Guy's Burgers which were very good; and the Tex-Mex place that took bad food to a completely new low. My husband and I didn't share a single ingredient in common and we both found it utterly disgusting. It was like eating pure salt and had no discernible flavor that we could identify. I know that it's supposed to be a party boat, but good gravy! Folks need to have a bit more sense in public. I know it's casual. I'm flip flop girl, but I have limits. Please don't forget that there are young children on the ship as well as seniors. This may have just been the group that was on our particular ship and from what I'm reading, that seems to have been the case. The smell of a special smokable product was strong in certain parts of the ship and I'm not talking about the 3 designated smoking areas. Just in general. Clearly the cruise line doesn't mind it. Speaking of smoking areas, the deck area on the 3rd floor smelled like sewage during the entire cruise. Even on windy days. The state of the ship itself is quite sad. Broken public bathrooms, entire floors that just reeked (2, 4 and 6). Broken displays, lighting grates fallen to the ground (in defense of maintenance on this one, they genuinely appeared to be working on this particular issue each day), and covers to cabinets secured with bungee cords or rope. This ship desperately needs to be docked for at LEAST a full month of top to bottom maintenance. With the exception of the comedy club and the music in the bars, the entertainment was pretty terrible and lacking. One day, I just gave up and took to my room and watched the 4 channels they had on the television that weren't advertising. By the way Carnival, you aren't fooling anyone by calling one of the channels TCM. Shame on you! Robert Osborne must be turning in his grave. No wonder they use Disney for their annual cruise. This wasn't our first cruise and we went on the boat to celebrate our 20th anniversary, expecting good things. I had heard a lot of positive comments from people I know about Carnival. I may try a longer cruise with them some day, but it won't be anytime soon. Read Less

Anniversary Cruise with the wife. These things happened onboard and I reported them to Carnival Customer Care when I returned home. (Note: These issues were not resolved by onboard staff when they were reported.) 1) Friends were unable to board because Carnival was trying to determine if they had a medical device that I use. How did they get my information on their cabin? Carnival Customer Care Response: Because they had dinner with us the information was given to them. Wow!!! 2) Passengers next to and above us (they were together) decided it was a good idea to put 9-10 inch speakers in hallway and blast music. They also did this in their cabin. Reported to Guest Services & Security. Nothing done. Carnival Customer Care Response: None (Onboard security stated they only “...take care of these types of issues at night”. The cabin steward handles in the daytime.) 3) Pre-Ordered a vanilla anniversary cake to be delivered for dinner. Received a chocolate happy birthday cake. Wow #2!! Carnival Customer Care Response: Refunded money. 4) Ordered food from room service twice. Resulted in wrong drinks and cold chicken wings. Carnival Customer Care Response: None At this point we’re done with Carnival. My wife and I have only cruised Carnival in the past. I have 11 and she has 12. We are Gold & Platinum members respectively. We requested Carnival refund our money and were told via telephone by Alicia today that nothing would be done. She offered a credit on our next cruise. Next cruise, seriously?!?!?! Read Less

They push alcohol on you, so much so that my daughter in law is pregnant and others within our party didn’t know...after telling our waiter in the dining No to shots several times my daughter in law said “I’m pregnant”...waiter left, only to return 2 minutes later with “are You really pregnant”?? Really???!!! I called prior to our sailing date to check attire for steak house as I had made reservations for my husbands birthday dinner...they wouldn’t let us in. I went to Customer service who claims they emailed the managers and would make an exception for us and get back with me by 4:00, they never followed through. The day of departure was a nightmare! Staircases blocked by staff, all locked in hallways like caged animals since you must leave your room by 8:30, if people are ready to get off the ship, let people off!!! Especially those who spent money for a balcony room and spent over $3000 in the casino! Why do the lower floors exit first and each floor takes about 30 minutes to get off, yet they kick you out of your room at 8:30 to stand in a hallway!!! NEVER EVER again will I cruise with Carnival! Booked three veranda state rooms for our family vacation. On the second day we returned to our room and there was a very strong paint oder. So bad that several people in our group developed headaches and became nauseous. Complained to guest services and they apologized and said they would cancel the next days work. Returned after dinner and found a note on the door they would be working on our room the next day. Again called and complained, work was canceled. Food was terrible. Served cold or over cooked. No taste very bland. Staff was more interested in pushing wine and drinks than serving meals. Service was hit or miss. Many times drinks were not refilled and no-one bothered to check after the meal was served if anything else was needed or if the food was OK. Halloween On The High Seas was joke. No organization at all. Absolute chaos when trick or treat started. Was supposed to be for children only but many adults tried to horn in only to add to the confusion. Nassau the port of call is nothing but a tourist trap with hucksters lining the route. Castaway Key was a fun day except for the lunch served on the island. Food was good and many choices. This looked like a scene out of The Birds as we had to fight them off as we tried to get food , staff could care less and did nothing to shoo them away or cover the food. This was our fifth Disney Cruise and last. The magic is gone not what it used to be. Disney charges the most and delivers the least. Read Less

Embarkation was easy no problem there. But this cruise is the most boring cruise I’ve ever been to. Entertaining will kick around 11pm and there is no pool ambiance except belly flopping activities, the last night of the cruise they have a deck party starting at 11:15pm!!! Which is crazy!!!! He whole cruise like a retirement community just to bring out some entertainment on the last day. He promenade will provide entertainment as well staring at 11 pm. The live music can hardly be heard because is to tight of a hallway for such potent speakers. Then later you will conglomerate like a sardine on a stretch hallway to dance old music either 70’s or 80’s the Latin club is a jail size space located on deck 4 where you listen to old Spanish salsa and is tight and uncomfortable to dance. If you are looking for other areas of the ship be prepared to get lost, is a maze!!! Chops grill is overrated. The steaks are cooked however they want you to eat it not how you ask for it. I wanted medium I got rare and when I asked do it to be cooked a little bit more the chef turned into chef Ramsay from Hell’s Kitchen. Yelling at the waiter being rude and making eye contact with me as if I had offended his awful cooking techniques. The stateroom is old and moldy smelling, beds hard as wood planks and if you ask for a room with one bed, be prepared to fall thru the crack in the middle where they conjoin the beds. If you don’t get your room clean everyday you will get harassed by the cruise coordinator, he will knock on your door he will stalk you on the hallway asking if the room is ok because it hasn’t been cleaned. Ports are good and shore excursions are ok too. Organized and easy to get to. I will not recommend this cruise. There are better and much more entertaining cruises. Cruises that will make say I can’t wait to come back. But not this one. I was happy to disembark this morning. Read Less

Safe to say after this I will never be on a Carnival Cruise again! Never, ever! Went on this cruise for my honeymoon + my husband and I were both highly disappointed. Disappointed is the understatement of the century. Would have been better off flushing our money down the toilet. Negatives: • Horrible food. Imagine Golden Corral gone terribly wrong, after an apocalypse. • Buffet was disgusting. The few other places to eat were closed at really strange times. Felt like we could never get food when we were hungry. Only things that were open 24 hours were the pizza bar (which served burnt pizza that’s taste reminded me of my elementary school cafeteria pizza) and the soft serve bar. The soft serve bar is not “soft serve” at all. It was more like ice with vanilla or chocolate flavoring which you could accompany with tiny little sugar cones. No toppings or anything. • Absolutely nothing to do on this cruise ship... aside from maybe Bingo? If you’re into that. The casino is small and as soon as you swipe your sign & sail card there is a $10 charge that gives you five credits. One mini golf course and one tiny ping pong table on the deck. Also an arcade, but that adds up fast. There’s is the occasional trivia. I never thought I could be bored on a cruise. I was wrong. (Remember, you’re sharing all these things with almost 3,000 other passengers) • There is one tiny pool for almost 3,000 passengers and two hot tubs. There is the Serenity Deck that seats maybe 35 people max, which fills up by 9:30 every morning. On the Serenity Deck, there are also only 2 hot tubs which stay completely full. • We bought the drink package but we were unable to get our moneys worth, or even close to it due to the VERY poor service. It took a MINIMUM of 15 minutes for any bartender to even notice us to take our drink order and another 10 for them to make the drinks. So by the time you’re able to get two drinks, an hour has passed. Service was absolutely terrible at all of the bars. • Decor is SO outdated, but that is minor. • Princess Cays — 1) the beach was TINY with lounge chairs packed shoulder to shoulder so you were unable to even enjoy the beach. Couldn’t take a nice walk or anything due to them crowding so many people on this island. But what could I expect considering this was also the theme on the cruise ship? 2) Carnival owns this island. You use your Sign & Sail Card at the bar, which is tended by Carnival employees. Your drinks are charged to your room, like all other purchases made on the ship. The automatic 15% gratuity still applies at this bar. But get this... your drink package does not apply on the island. My husband and I’s drink packages cost over $600 and you’re telling me that they don’t apply on the CARNIVAL OWNED island? Such a scam. I was disgusted. Spent an hour and a halfback here and went back on board. • One elevator was broken during the cruise, so only three by the state rooms were available for use. We couldn’t catch an elevator for the life of us. Had to take the stairs everywhere we went. This was not fun. • Waiters can’t take your drink orders during meals. They have to go get the “bar waiter” to take your drink order. Sat down for brunch and asked for a Bloody Mary and water. Waiter said they would have to get a bar waiter. Half an hour later... no bar waiter. I asked again. 45 minutes later and still no bar waiter. Finished our whole meal and ended up leaving without getting a drink. (Wow! What great use this drink package is getting, right?) • Music by the pool is deafening at all times. You’re not able to relax at all. I never want to hear another steel drum for as long as I live. • Carnival screams the word “fun” at you 24/7. The irony is that I couldn’t find one fun thing about this cruise. I think they say it so that maybe you will convince yourself that you’re having fun. Nope. • Nassau - not tax free shopping. Actually, 12% tax! Felt very unsafe here. Locals barading you at every stop to get a taxi or buy some Cuban cigars. Due to this we were unable to even walk down the street or shop. Finally escaped to a restaurant for a meal and drink. Got charged $40 for a large drink that didn’t have a drop of alcohol in it. Spent a total of two hours here. • Shopping on board was bad. There’s a jewelry store and another little store to buy knick knacks, flip flops, sunscreen ($15+), etc. Positives: • Smooth and quick embarkation and debarkation process. • The man who cleaned our room was wonderful and knew us by name. He made a point to say hello in the hallway every time when we walked by! • Guy’s Burger Joint was delicious. Only edible food on this cruise. But who can eat a burger and fries for 5 days straight? Moral of the story: please, please, please save your money. Do anything other than go on this cruise. Highly recommend Royal Caribbean! Only reason we cruised with Carnival was because we got married in Charleston and this is the only ship that leaves from this port. We were relieved to be LEAVING our vacation... something you should never feel. Read Less
