We loved it but...

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

We booked last minute on a "stand-by" deal to Alaska to see our daughter in Ketchican. Really had NO expectations. It was a great cruise, and for the most part, a great ship. We were, however, sorely disappointed with the Horizon Buffet--both the food and the service. This is our ninth Princess, and have never had such poor service and food. We have always depended on the Buffet for our ...

This was the first Alaska Cruise for both of us and we chose it particularly because it was round trip from San Francisco so no flying was involved. Embarkation was great and as Elite Members of the Captain's Circle we got onboard quickly just before 1pm and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon. Getting off the ship was also easy. We work as Ushers with the SF Giants and went to work, so we dressed in ...

Alaska Cruise -- Meh! Princess? ---- anything but grand.

I wish I could say something good about the food but in all honesty I have to say food was prepared long before it was served, not a good thing. The desserts looked very nice but really had little to no "taste". Service in the dining room was just "ok." Over the 10 days I got a little tired of the waiter mixing things up and setting someone else entree in front of me. Our waiter caught his ...

10 Day Alaskan Cruise, Nothing Special

We chose this cruise because of the convenience of leaving from San Francisco and being able to easily drive from the east bay and park near the port. The embarkation went smooth enough but time consuming with long lines. Some people figured out taking the elevator would let you cut the line to security and get ahead of the long escalator line the staff directs everyone to. There was plenty of ...

friends already booked trip through their travel agent The dining rooms had very good service, but some of the selections were not part of the average American's diet! The ship had many Asian citizens, and the buffet always had Asian food. The lunch menu was extremely disappointing. The desserts were awesome, as was the pizza. The ship was kept very clean. Some of our travel members received ...

This is my complaint that has been logged with Princess Cruises. First day, 17th May, on board, we had been recommended to Sabatini’s restaurant and decided to book a table on the 20th, my wife’s birthday. We also noticed that, a sign outside the restaurant stated, it was a black tie/formal dress night. On the evening, there were several diners not observing the dress code. We arrived ...

Good cruise but food & entertainment patchy

Embarkation was easy in Rome and our cabin size was as expected & comfortable. The balcony is a bit small but adequate. We used anytime dining and as we were happy to share never waited very long. The restaurant food was patchy and one night awful, I think they want you to go for their paid restaurants! Entertainment - theatre was v good especially the soul show. Other venues were often closed ...

Wanted to do something really special for our honeymoon and choose a Mediterranean cruise for my husband's first cruise and my first Princess Cruise. We flew into Rome and went directly to the ship. Embarkation was smooth and painless. Great cabin (balcony) aft on Marina Deck just one deck below the buffet which was probably not a good idea. We had Any Time Dining and never ever had to wait ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Royal Princess

Everywhere we went there was noise and music all the time. The only place we could find peace and quiet was in our cabin. We booked a trip to Europe and everything was "American" on the ship. I felt like we were in the USA. Breakfasts were terrible - fast food. Hot food was ice cold. We thought we could have a leisurely breakfast in the dining room during sea days but it closed at 9:00 am. The ...
