One of our main purposes for this cruise was to see beautiful Autumn leaves. The weather was very cooperative and we had smooth waters throughout our cruise. While the leaves had just begun to change in Quebec City , as the ship sailed south, the leaves were changing more and were perfectly beautiful in Maine. Just what we had hoped to see!
As always, Holland America provides a lovely cruise ...
Our vacation started on Oct 1st in Montreal. We flew in from Ohio. The Montreal airport was empty with the exception of the passengers that arrived on our flight. The kiosk to process the immigration papers was a bit confusing, but there was one person that went around and helped everyone. We took a taxi to our hotel, Auberge Bonaparte, to drop off our luggage. The taxi driver did not speak any ...
All was very good. Having said that I still have some suggestions for improvement. Internet "service" in the stateroom was a bad joke. Had to move the computer around to find access. The food overall was good but the desserts, especially cakes were not very good. invariably dry. The staff was very good. Never found anyone that I could complain about. Did I say that the internet was veeeery ...
We had a very enjoyable time on the Dawn. We booked the cruise only 5 weeks out and chose a guaranteed inside cabin. We ended up in an ocean view. Drove to Quebec City from Montreal. We had purchased the transfer package to get from the airport to the ship in Quebec and from the ship to the airport in Boston. The transfer process could have been better at both ports. Seems that the outfit ...
Our cruise began on October 1st from Quebec City.
Boarding was quick and painless. We were able to go to our stateroom immediately. Our luggage was delivered very quickly.
The ship does show some slight signs of wear. Walking around the deck, we could see supplies being readied for updating the interior. We did not worry about whether or not the ship showed wear as we were more interested in ...
Embarkation:
Boarding the ship was efficient once we passed the security checkpoint which was typically inefficient. We required a wheel chair to board. Ship’s personnel were courteous and took my wife and I directly to the Windjammer for lunch. Our cabin was available by one o’clock.
Cabin:
We had a balcony cabin on the 9th deck. It seemed small compared to other Royal Caribbean ...
This was supposed to be a cruise to see the fall foliage, but the weather had been so warm leading up to the cruise that the trees were still green. I guess that is a good enough reason to repeat this cruise someday.
We arrived in Quebec City Thursday evening and stayed at a Marriott hotel right in the center of Old Quebec. It was really very nice as the center city reminded us of a European ...
We had arrived in Quebec City after over a fortnight "on the road", we flew from Auckland to Vancouver and had a fortnight there and elsewhere in BC (visiting daughter and family and other family members) before flying to Montreal, where we had 3 days before taking the train to Quebec.
Great to have a 'free' night on the ship so we could take an excellent trip on the next day before we ...
This cruise is sold as a from/to from Quebec or a from/to from Boston or as a one way cruise from either city. You get to meet new people on the return trip, which we liked. This was not a cruise for young people. The ship was sold out but there were almost no children, less than 10 in both directions. My wife and I are in our early 60's and we seemed to be well below the average age on the ship. ...
Norwegian Dawn New England/Canada cruise review September 2015
First a little about us: Both of us are in our early 60's and just the two of us cruised. We've been on 3 Carnival cruises to the Caribbean and this was our second on NCL. The first being an Alaskan cruise last year. Let me say this about this cruise. The majority of the passenger were well in their 70's with us being the minority ...
