Water taxi to local beach usual bed charges no umbrellas and dreadful French hospitality. We waited for 90 minutes on the jetty for our return journey which we had already paid for before the water taxi came and was 85% full from a neighboring beach and we had to wait another 35 mins before one came back with growing concerns of missing the ship . Please don’t visit this place. ...

Was very disappointed as there was no organization at all at this port. No taxis & they would not accept the dollar only euros or credit card. We decided to just walk around the port but we met a woman who recommended a local tour & would take us to the beach also - they had a small bus so we decided to do that. We had a lovely tour of the island & she took us to a local beach as there were ...

We were last here in 2002 so were eager to see what had changed in 16 years. Martinique is a French overseas territory, so French is the primary language spoken as well as local dialects, and the euro is the standard currency. Unfortunately, we were docked at the Tourelles Cruise Terminal, a good 20-25-minute walk from the town centre. It was a very hot and sunny day and I can tell you it was ...

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

Beautiful quaint town. Be wary of ferries going to the further beaches as they may reduce service and you may arrive late to port. Fairly easy to walk around town. The cathedral and library are amazing. There is a small beach at the end of the boardwalk which is really clean and beautiful and right next to the Fort. You can walk about a mile into this beach and the water level does not rise! ...
