MSC is new to the Caribbean ports of call. I wanted to give them a try and the price was affordable.
This is what I wrote to my travel agent and on the MSC survey:
The following is for the 2nd cruise of our B2B. This 2nd cruise also had the Holistic Conference. There was a huge difference in service between the 2 cruises. Non-conference passengers suffered:
The inside cabins were like any inside cabin.
We spent 3 days before the cruise on South Beach. Had a wonderful time and would come back.
We didn't get off the ship. We spent a week on Aruba many years ago.
This is a beautiful city. We walked into town. I do Not recommend this. It is a 45 minute walk. The heat/humidity will zap your energy to see the city or the castle. Cab fare was $10 US to get back to the ship which is money well spent.
We only got off the ship to get some internet. Not much of a town.
Charlotte Amalie is a great town to walk around. Had some drinks and a great nacho plate at the Drunken Clam.
St Kitt is a great walking town. We wanted to take the ferry to Nevis to see Alexander Hamilton's home but the water was too choppy for me.
We were told that the cab drivers wanted Euros so we just walked the town. The fort was closed so we walked the town.
We walked into town in 20 minutes. The locals are friendly and helpful. The town is well maintained. I would like to come back to the island for a longer stay.
This island appeared to be the poorest. Many building were run down as we walked the town. The people were helpful and kind.
