We love Royal Caribbean and are slowly working our way up in loyalty points. This cruise gets a mixed review. The cabin was wonderful- we stayed in a suite and had the attention of the wonderful concierge- Nadya who helped smooth any issues and answer any questions from start to finish. She was wonderful! A big pat on the back to the staff that helped her in the lounge from 4:30-8- they were also wonderful. Our room was lovely, and the suite lounge was also wonderful. Ice show was great, production shows were good and the comedians very funny. A fair amount of scheduled activity- the activities staff was great- Carlos was very funny- they were all good. We enjoyed a tour of the galley and bridge very much and I loved chatting with the very nice hotel director from England. I thought the entire casino staff was very cordial and friendly- we really enjoyed the time we spent there. We also thought the SPA staff was great- (Dr. Erik, Nikita, Liv) and enjoyed the morning stretch class. So the negative? Two. One was not ship related. We did our arrangements with RC and flew in and stayed at a hotel the night before. When we arrived we were told the 4 of us were booked in a room with a king bed. Our receipt clearly said 4 people, 2 rooms. We had to pay $200 for a room after already paying $400. I hope/expect this will be rectified but it was a bad start. The other issue was the food in the dining room. We saw a clear change from past cruises and will wait to see if this was just this ship or all RC. There were clearly less menu choices for dinner and food was not as good. Roasted chicken on the menu was a grilled chicken patty/breast (all our waiters said it was a change and agreed it was misleading). Escargot no longer comes with the little toast/crouton to dip in the sauce (hey- it was great and we miss it! :), and no one ever offered fresh pepper on anything. Waitstaff was as attentive as they always are but the food choices were just more limited. The one day we had lunch in the dining room we were impressed- more choices then we had at diner. Our waiter told us that the goal to simplfy the menu was so people could try more things. I don't buy that- two nights in a row we were very disappointed by the offerings.
