Completed a 9-night cruise aboard the Explorer with a total of 13 family members raining from 70+ to 9 years old during Easter break. We have taken other RC cruises and are Anchor members but this has to be one of the poorest experiences we have encountered at the highest prices we have ever paid.
It started with the emergency drill with outdoor muster stations - in the cold. Usually they set ...
Well what can I say? I have never experienced a holiday like this before. I felt so looked after by the staff and nothing seemed to be too much trouble!
We had an interior room which was a bit dark but otherwise very comfortable and very well attended by the staff. It was cleaned twice a day and each evening we were left a lovely little towel animal!
Leaving Cape Liberty was a bit rocky but if ...
Leaving out of Cape Liberty was very convenient, since we live in CT. We took the Academy Bus from New London to Bayonne.
The itinerary was great, but it was actually three degrees warmer in CT the day we were in Bermuda! St. Maarten, San Juan PR and Labadee Haiti were all very warm. Highlight for us was the Dragon's Breath Flight Line in Labadee. A little expensive, but worth it!
Our cabin ...
This was our 5th cruise (4th with RCL) and the worst one so far. Will never take another RCL cruise!
The embarkation and disembarkation was easy and fast. Our excursions at all ports were great!
The problem was that out of 3600 guests, over 1200 were kids from NY and NJ that ranged in age 17 and under. Being from Missouri, did not know that spring break for schools in NJ and NY and that lots of ...
This was our 19th cruise and our shortest cruise. We usually do B2B, but I am happy we weren't on the ship any longer than 5 days.
We have been on the Explorer before but she is really showing the wear & tear of non-stop use. I just got the feeling that RCL is trying to suck as much out of the ship before they put her in for refurbishing. Too many stains on everything. Even saw torn upholstery. ...
I took my first ever cruise on Explorer last December and was instantly hooked. My wife took her last cruise on another line back in the 1980's and really never wanted to cruise again, til I came back with great stories about what a wonderful time I had.
We got to Bayonne around 10, and check in was quick and painless. We actually had a pretty high boarding number but not too many people were ...
We were on the April 19th sailing to Bermuda. Arrived at pier about 12:30. Waited in car line for over an hour. Parking was secure & conveniently located to the terminal. It cost $95 for our five night cruise.
Once on the ship, we went to our cabin, Balcony 9590. Our cabin Steward, Mark, was outstanding. Luggage delivery was fast and had everything put away before Muster Drill. First time ...
I have taken a cruise on Explorer of the Seas before. This ship has gone down hill big time. Me and my boyfriend went on this cruise for his Birthday. I had ordered Celebration Items prior to the cruise. Only 1 out of the 3 items were in the room when we arrived. I decided to wait till the end of the night (that being midnight) to see if the items would arrive at a later time in the day. Nothing ...
This is my second cruise with RCCL. My first cruise was on the Oasis. Booking the Explorer I knew I was going on a smaller, older ship but as a resident of Connecticut, embarking from Bayonne was so much more convenient than flying to Florida. Even still, I expected the quality of food and entertainment to be the same but it wasn't. The Dining Room food was mediocre. The waitstaff was incredible ...
We were a little dissappointed with our St. Maarteen ATV excursion as we were not told that we would be going to Orient Beach for two hours and we didn't bring out suits.Oh French side is nude! Oh well entertainment!
Ship is in good shape but going into dry dock soon for updates. Showing a little wear.
Lived at the Solarium pool as we had no kids with us and it was our anniversary. Staff was ...
