We chose this cruise because my parents wanted to see Greece and this cruise went there. They also dreamed of going on an Oceania cruise because the food is supposed to be great as well as service and staterooms.
The cruise began on a sour note as the cruise could not leave from Monte Carlo as it was slated. The reason was given as weather, however, we spent 3 days in Nice before departure and ...
Loved itinerary especially grateful for several sea days, which is a bit unusual for port-intensive Oceania. Wanted to escape the heat of the Mid-Atlantic and try a longer cruise.
The service was stellar and loved having four specialty restaurants available -- all were excellent and Red Ginger was our favorite. And those views from Polo and Toscana were amazing, especially when traveling ...
The Ship: Well maintained and operated. The crew was very helpful and pleasant. After dealing with a nasty private porter in New York (we ignored him, not sure why Oceania allows this) once we got to deal with the Oceania we had nothing but positive experiences for the rest of our trip. Embarkation was easy.
Crossing the Atlantic in the spring can be a little rough. I give great credit to ...
So far we have always cruised on Oceania’s Riviera but decided to “pay a visit” to her older sister, the M/S Marina. The Transatlantic Passage from Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro began on November 28th and ended on December 14th. We flew into Lisbon a day early and stayed over at a hotel close to the port.
On the embarkation day the departure from the cruise terminal was very disorganized and ...
xcellent staff was very efficient service spotty in Terrace cafe getting a drink of teat took forever Service every else was excellent The entertainment on the front part of the trip was mediocre to terrible It improved substantially from the Hawaaian Islands to LA.Entertainment has never been this lines strong point cuisine however is fantastic anywhere on the ship The line even provided a ...
We booked this cruise because of the ports and Jacques Pepin would be on board. We upgraded to a marvelous Owners suite--8th floor. I didn't like we were on the 8th floor at first, but once in suite, it was glorious and contrary to other reports, we got lots of sun on the balcony (we were in an oceania suite on prior cruise and never got sun...so it depends on how the ship is sailing).
Food ...
This was the 12 night cruise from Stockholm to Amsterdam. Three days in St. Petersburg was the highlight of the trip.
Staff was extremely helpful, mostly friendly, but somewhat impersonal. This may be for a couple of reasons: 1) the Captain's leadership style, and/or 2) It appeared that many staff members were about to leave for vacation.
Many ratings were downgraded because of one or two ...
We have taken a lot of Oceania cruises and especially like the larger ships, primarily because of the cabins, the large bathrooms, the magnificent common areas and our favorite restaurant, Red Ginger. The food generally is great. 22 nights and only one meal in the main dining room, veal roast, that wasn't good. Most meals were better than fine restaurants anywhere and Red Ginger's surpass any ...
The staff of the Marina very attentive. We were very pleased with the service provided by the wait staff and our room steward. The wait staff are very busy but we found that they try very hard to please. Our room steward was remarkable in her willingness to be helpful. We had a butler that was very pleasant but needed to communicate better and take more initiative. We would ask him for some and we ...
I've cruised before, but my husband had not. I wanted to take an excellent cruise to convince him this is a great way to vacation. It worked; we booked another cruise before this cruise ended.
We choose our own air and own pre-cruise hotel, because he travels a lot we had lots of points to use. We took a bus tour to Stonehenge on our way to Southampton. It was enough time for a quick visit ...
