My wife and I booked this cruise believing it was going to be an active, challenging experience with the added bonus of visiting new areas that would otherwise be difficult to reach. Such as Sable Island. In anticipation we went out and spent a great deal of money purchasing the recommended clothing, insulated boots, and other supplied suggested by Silversea.

We also left San Francisco 2/5/18 for Sydney on Q2. The Itinerary was great, the Ship clean, and the crew professional. However, with a number of 4-5 day stretches at sea, one would expect some professional entertainment and varied daytime activities. The ship broke down after leaving Honolulu, had to be towed by tugs back to port. Stuck in Honolulu for three days. Missed 40% of ports of call on the San Diego to Papeete Cruise. Feelings of insecurity, uncertainty and disappointment. Oceania offered $500 shipboard credit on cruise in 2018/19 as compensation and that's all. No respect or empathy for passengers. I chose this cruise for the itinerary. Cruising the North Sea was wonderful and those countries are wonderful. It was a busy cruise with only one sea day. The food which the Cruise Line constantly talks about was good but still cruise food. The ship was nice, newer, and well maintained. The cruise was boring. There was really nothing to do during off times. Drinks were ridiculously expensive.

We chose this ship for a very special holiday. It was our 55 wedding anniversary and my wife birthday and my 80th. We paid top money for a good kabin.We paid £16.500.00 For the trip. We have cruised 5 times on other lines but this was a "Bucket List" cruise for us. We felt we were very lucky to get any disability cabin, let alone in Princess Grill. The itinerary appealed to me and the time of year was perfect. I was led to believe that Cunard were an upmarket company but several things were not up to standard. Having sailed on several ships with companies as diverse as Thompson, Fred Olsen, MSC, Royal Caribbean, P and O, Princess,Holland America and Azamara I would place Cunard somewhere in the middle.
