Great service and interesting excursions

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Roald Amundsen

We really enjoyed the staff and meals, and the extra help the crew supplied due to my sister-in-laws limited mobility. Everyone was friendly and efficient, and the excitement of the expedition team (especially when they were discussing their areas of expertise) was wonderful to watch. The cabins were comfy and well designed, and the ship was new and nice. We appreciated the emphasis on ‘green’ ...

I really can’t remember why I chose to cruise round the Outer Hebrides in April (the trip had been postponed for a couple of years due to the Covid epidemic) and I realised it was a mad decision on reading previous CC reviews BUT we were very lucky and had excellent weather. This meant that we missed only one landing on Iona. I think the company have learnt from previous reviews and have ...

BA to Antarctic to Falklands Experience

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Roald Amundsen

I have to start this review with a fond farewell to Buenos Aires, as the cruise package started from there. We came in early and were in BA the day Argentina won the World Cup, so there was joyful celebrating throughout the city which kicked off a wonderful next 2 1/2 weeks. However... it meant that, two days later, we had to leave our hotel at 1:30 AM in a vain attempt to avoid airport traffic to ...

Good to Check that Bucketlist

Compliments: -Boat is exceptional, it was built by Rolls-Royce so quality is premium -Food is quality if repetitive -Expeditions are enjoyable and good exercise -All the penguins you could hope for. We also saw whales, dolphins and seals. Some of my critiques: -More boat entertainment for guests. No comedians, (dedicated) bands, any dancing, movie lounges, nothing. It's a got a ...

Great way to experience coastal Norway

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Maud

Hurtigruten’s “Expedition” series cruises are half-way between a traditional cruise and an adventure expedition. The food is top class, plentiful and well managed but the choice of restaurants, bars and dining experiences is limited. The on-board entertainment centres around lectures, craft activities etc and there are no “shows” or anything of the like. There is no casino. The focus is on ...

Great all round cruise

Review for a British Isles & Western Europe Cruise on Maud

I chose this Expedition cruise as it had a great itinerary around the remote Scottish Isles. Particularly good if travelling alone as I found crew and passengers really friendly and helpful. The expedition team were great. Customer services desk staff excellent for sorting out any queries or problems. Cabin lacked space to put your clothes as no drawers and only 1 small wardrobe. Not ...

Information about Us We are a retired professional couple; indeed this was to have been my wife's retirement trip, but it had to be postponed for 2 years. While we had visited parts of North America previously, most of our travelling has been in Europe. This was our 4th cruise, and our 2nd with the company now known as Hurtigruten. Over 25 years ago we had sailed with them on the Norwegian ...

Comprehensive trip with many highlights

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Maud

This expedition cruise appealed to us as it was informal, the pricing was clear and the ship visited a wide range of locations, many never visited by other cruises. In addition there was the option to be as active and adventurous as you liked; kayaking, zodiac cruises, science activities, art and crafts, hiking and just being a tourist were all on offer. Three very good meals a day with ...

Aurora Borealis and more

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Kong Harald

I have chosen this cruise because I absolutely wanted to see the aurora borealis live and I was very fortunate seeing them on several occasions. The crew always informed us when the lights occurred. Good job well done! Expedition team offered enough and very interesting excursions, some could have been better lead eg the “Art Nouveau Walk” in Alesund, I would give the guide a 4 in a rating from ...
