Having been a fan of royal and it’s sister ships - this was a huge disappointment. I chose this ship that was suppose to have a dreamworks program catered to little kids. After paying in full I was told the program was canceled and nothing would be replaced. I paid 500 dollars for an almost 2 year old to sit a one mini splash pool. The best part is kids wake up early and the pool doesn’t open to 10. The last day the filter was broke and we couldn’t even go in for hours. LocAted right next to a larger splash park that she couldn’t go in with a diaper or any other pool on the ship. I was told there would be multiple options of things to do with a young child - ok great if I want to put my baby in an indoor playroom on vacation NO THANKS. Do a Disney Cruise is all I can say. The food was about good as a cafeteria in a hospital and lines for places to pay were a mile long for also mediocre food. 150 central dinner upgrade was the only positive thing I can say about this cruise. Service awful, out of everything form drinks to hot dogs, they never had anything. I haven’t taken a royal cruise in many years and will never again. Celebrity has always lived up to its expectations but with a child I was told Royal was the ship- NO go If you dont want to be nickel and dimed for every penny you spend skip this cruise line. I am a person happy to spend money on a trip especially for my baby girl. I have cruised on most lines and vacationed from beaches to the best resorts. Thank goodness we are going to Disney world after this or id be so upset right now. Lesson learned I will spend my money elsewhere where by daughter can actually have things to do like the characters and parades that i paid for but we’re canceled. Let me say I never write reviews but this really upset me. Hope those who read it deeply consider before booking Read Less

we chose this cruise for a quick relaxing get away( 8 couples) Before we even got on board it was turning into a mess, we booked this a year in advance used cruise planner and I called to link us all for dinner at 645 for the 3 nights when the shows came on line I called to book 3 shows as cruise got closer all our plans disappeared. My husband and I cruised on the Harmony of the Seas for our Anniversary. We were interested to cruise on a big boat without the price tag of a seven day cruise. Harmony gave two, three day cruises in early May before it started regular seven day cruises from Port Canaveral. We were excited to take advantage of the opportunity. Harmony is a very, very beautiful boat. She is new, updated, sleek and technologically advanced. The decks are so huge. I can see where it would be easy to become lost. But, after a few days, its easy to catch on. The boat is divided by colors: blue, green, yellow, and orange. But, if the halls and stairs were labeled, I missed it. We had a great cruise and would sail on Harmony again. But, cruisers must be prepared for a TON of people. There are people and lines everywhere for the first day. Then, it starts to even out. Thus, embarkation was very, very crowded. But, we made it through security and onto the boat in just about 25 minutes. We chose to park off site at the Raddison in Port Canaveral and it was efficient and easy. Food: We totally avoided the Windjammer on the first day and made a beeline to the Solarium buffet, which was delicious and had plenty of options (the Solarium didn’t open until Noon on embarkation day). The Solarium never seemed crowded and there were always plenty of shade and chairs. We also had a bite at Park Café and Sorrentos; both were very good. Park Café offered an awesome bagel bar in the mornings and it was actually really, really good. We ate one hot dog at the hot dog stand on the Boardwalk, and tried to get several more hot dogs… but the hours were squirrely and even when the hot dog stand appeared open, staff would not serve… very strange and kind of frustrating. We ate dinners in the Main Dining Room, which provided great service and great food. One night, we were out of the Main Dining Room, within about 65 minutes, which was awesome! We also requested a table for two during breakfast in the Main Dining Room. After a little humming and hawing, we were accommodated, which was really nice! I was SO disappointed the Main Dining Room was not open for lunch when we were in port at Nassau. I was really looking forward to avoiding Windjammer and having a relaxing lunch… but no luck. On the day we were in port, there were only two (free) food options available…. Windjammer and Park Café. Since we had yet to be at Windjammer, we decided to bite the bullet and try it. It was crowded, but the food was very good. They even had a ice cream bar in the back, with staff scooping different flavors. That was very unexpected and very nice! So, I should not slam the Windjammer too much. But, the best dining experience we had was at Jamie Olivers. I highly recommend up charging to Jamie’s. We went for lunch and it was the highlight of our cruise. The service from Daniel was suburb and the food was absolutely amazing! We let it slip it was our Anniversary, and they treated us so very well. Casino: We had fun playing in the casino. The craps minimum was $10 and we found low-limits for Blackjack in the cruise compass for $6. The dealers were fun and the crowd was great too. Shows: When checking in online, I noticed there were options to reserve seats for the shows. So, I was confused when there were TONS of people in long lines to get show reservations. Then, when we went to the shows, there was no one “checking” to make sure we had reservations. I inquired about this, as I was confused. If you arrive at the shows 10 minutes prior to start time, the show becomes general seating and anyone is welcome. We never had a problem getting a seat and we arrived just moments before the show started. I didn’t care for the water show, but my husband loved it. My husband walked out of Grease, and said it was boring with no sets and inconsistent dancing. But, we both agreed Columbus was THE BEST SHOW we’ve ever seen on a cruise boat. Columbus was totally entertaining, funny, and we didn’t want it to end. The Ice Show was good too. There were men dressed as women in the opening scene, which was very painful to watch (it seemed to be purposeful and part of the show). But, after that, the ice show got a lot better. Water Slides/Abyss Slide: The Ultimate Abyss is one awesome slide! You start on Deck 15, aft and slide down to the Boardwalk. The slide is not scary. It has fun lights, wind, and sounds during the slide. The best part is even before sliding… the view at the top of the slide are amazing. You are allowed to have a cell phone (they show you how to tuck it away) and you can tuck away sun glasses too. If you have bare shoulders, bring a sweater or shirt to wear, as they won’t allow uncovered shoulders. Don’t bring your coke glass, as you’ll have to leave it and then retrieve it later. This looked like a giant pain for guests. On the flip side, the water slides on Deck 15, forward were very, very disappointing. The Perfect Storm was a disaster from the beginning. The lifeguard at the bottom of the slide made us remove everything…. Jewelry, sunglasses, waterSOCKs, and even my WATERPROOF watch. This was a complete turn off, as we had to take valuables back to the room and leave flip flops and watersocks by our chairs. Then, we had to trudge through the boat, barefoot, which was gross to me. The lines were long and they are overly cautious with when guests can slide. Once on the slide, it was so slow, dark, boring, and especially slow, I was glad when it finally ended. Honestly, my hair didn’t even get wet. Did I mention how SLOW the ride was? So, this made us even more frustrated… why have us remove all our jewelry, go barefoot, with THAT SLOW of a ride?? It was a complete turn off. Save your time and go on the Ultimate Abyss or do anything that’s fun. It would have been helpful to know there are more “rules,” besides the ones posted on the signs. I hope by reading this review I’ve saved you some time. Diamond Lounge: The Diamond Lounge was wonderful with great service. The food was good and the drinks were plentiful. Since there were so many Diamonds on the cruise, they opened up a second option for lounging, which I thought was a really nice touch. Thank you! Read Less

My Mom had business trip on this cruise and I can along! Amazing time, food was great and plenty. Staff was very kind and helpful. So much to do and see. Loved the Dog House, for their Coney Island hotdog. Windjammer always kept things fresh for selections of food. Something for everyone. I loved the Adult solarium. Nice and quiet, kid free, gorgeous views, and relaxing. The medical staff was very professional when we had to take my father to be seen. Due to the medical issue we had to miss our shore excursion and the Ship staff helped us to get reimbursed our cost. They have this Bionic Robot Bartender, it was cool to design my own drink and watch this Robot make it. Great to watch even if not ordering a drink. The Abyss, was intimidating at first, until I watched an 80 year old lady go down it and told me how much she loved. So I gave it a go, and I loved. Loved it so much going again on same ship next March. Read Less

This was my first cruise and now I understand all y'all extreme cruise fiends! There was so much fun stuff to do, the staff was so attentive and friendly, the scenery was obviously insanely beautiful, the other guests were friendly, the behind the scenes tour was amazing. Top-notch live music around every corner seemingly constantly. "The Fine Line" water acrobatics show was unique and beautiful. I was a little concerned about feeling claustrophobic as it was my first time being at sea for so long, but the Harmony of the Seas has so many distinct places to hang out, I didn't even exhaust them all. Between Entertainment Place, the Promenade, the Boardwalk, Central Park, the pool deck, and the Solarium, I had what basically felt like a huge playground. Every day was ridiculously fun- I'd wake up, spend time with my family on a shore excursion or on the boat, do programming, go to a show, have dinner, go out drinking and dancing or just wander around the ship. The gym is HUGE and beautiful. The partially outdoor track wraps around the ship and has stunning views. I was very pleased with the activities. They were a great way to meet other passengers. I went to Harry Potter trivia, Friends Trivia, Learn the "thriller" dance workshop, Love + Marriage game show, Quest game show, Red nightclub at Studio B, and to several nightclubs/ dance parties at the Attic, the Solarium, and elsewhere. The cruise director, Bobby Brown, and his staff were excellent. We asked Bobby a question after Love + Marriage and he was super friendly and pleasant and stayed to talk to us for a long time even though he got multiple calls. Hugo is hilarious. Only grievance- I'm vegetarian and my parents are vegan and we had some difficulty with dining (them more so than me.) Communication seemed to be a problem when they'd call ahead about special meals at the main dining room, Silk. We had better luck at the Windjammer and the Solarium Bistro and they had the best luck, vegan-food-wise, at 150 Park or whatever it's called, and the Japanese place (possibly called Hibachi?) We also had multiple servers who acted like my parents' vegan diets were a huge problem/annoyance for them, which to me seemed rude and unreasonable in 2017 where there are people with all kinds of special diets everywhere. My only other grievance is that the ship's coffee isn't that good/ kind of weak. and my last g Otherwise, I can't rave about it enough. Read Less

I do not usually post reviews because they are only a snap shop of an individuals experience however, given that every passenger I spoke to on this cruise was of the same opinion, i am sure many reviews are coming. From the moment we arrived at the port, being a diamond plus member, we were promised expedited boarding. What a joke. no one knew or cared what promises were made. Everyone was cattle called into the same long lines with understaffed check in agent trying to hear passengers over a loud marching band in the terminal with loud drums which made it impossible to speak or hear. After that 2 hour debacle it was on to the ship where guest services could not answer even the most basic questions. Reservations that were made days prior to sailing were either missing or incomplete. Crew members were rude and unhelpful. Now to the restaurants. The first night was ok. We ate at the steakhouse chops whihc was good with decent service. It was all downhill after that. Breakfast the next day at the buffet was a joke. Every table full and dozens of people walking around with food on plates and no where to sit. After 20 minutes I finally found that there was an omelette place on a deck above that also served breakfast. I waited 10 minutes until a worker finally came behind the counter and asked for our order. We said and I flagged down a waiter to get a soda since we had all bought the drink packages. The waiter said the machine was broken and he would have to walk too far to get a soda. So I was so aggravated I left. Dinner that night was even worse. Went to there serenity restaurant which had 5 tables seated an 20 tables open inside and 20 open outside which were not being used. Hostess told us we would have to wait at least 20 minutes even though there were many tables open. We waited and ordered skirt steak. What was served was not skirt steak but was a low quality London broil which I wouldn't feed to my dog. We didn't even attempt to eat it because it looked so bad. Again we were so aggravated we didn't eat. We decided to skip breakfast the next day to avoid the windjammer buffet experience and go to Johnny Rockets for Lunch. We arrived at 11:15 and sat outside waiting for lunch to start at 11:30. There were no servers and only 1 manager walking around as people started to arrive. The place quickly filled up and by noon there was no one to take an order. When I flagged down the manager he said his crew was not there yet. (I guess they got stuck in traffic). Finally 1 server arrived for the entire outside which by that point was about 60 customers. Needless to say we finally received food at 1pm. 90 minutes!!. We though if we paid for the restaurants we would at least get some service. It didn't matter, paid or not nobody cared. We decided for dinner just to get some chips, quesadillas and guacamole which we were told that the Mexican place Sabor on the boardwalk was known for. NO guacamole sorry. To top off the experience on the ship there were about 100 people in the lounge that were told would be able to watch the dolphin game. Well another game was put on and everyone proceeded to guest services angry because the same people had told all of us not to worry, it would be shown. Now they say they cant show it so many of us had to disembark at port and go to Atlantis to watch the game. When I returned I found out that they figured out halfway into the game that they could show it. I could write another 500 words about more bad experiences but I will skip to the "expedited disembarkation" which they recomended we take our luggage to get off the ship at 7am. Only 2 customs agents were processing thousands of people even though we were the first couple hundred people to get off the ship it took over an hour. As a result of this I will never cruise on a Royal Carribean cruise ship again. The problems were so widespread and pervasive and no one was willing to address them as we complained to whomever we could find. We were told the executives families were on the ship and most were unavailable. By the looks of the satisfaction level they will be the only people on future sailings. Speaking to another table at Johnny Rockets that were first time cruisers, they said they were told how wonderful cruising was and after this experience they will never cruise again. I tried to convince them that it is not usually like this. Most officers and executives care about the passenger experience. Just not on this ship. Maybe they were right. Even though I have been on dozens of great cruises, after all of the aggravation from this trip, it will be a long time before I pick up a cruise brochure,. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we liked Oasis of the Seas, and this was the newer, improved version of it. We went on a 3 day Bahamas cruise. The ship is stunning; everything in it is beautiful, magnificent. Wherever you look there are details in the decoration that make it special. The food at the included restaurants (dining room, Windjammer) was delicious, abundant and varied. My favorite was the shrimp station at the Windjammer. We didn't experience the speciality restaurants because we prioritized going to the shows, so we weren't able to fit in reservations. Besides they were booked long before sailing. The shows were spectacular. The "not to be missed" shows are Grease and The Fine Line, but all of them are worth going to. You have to make reservations at least a month in advance because they fill up. The servers in general were very friendly and helpful throughout the ship. No complaints regarding service by employees. The rooms were spacious and serene, we had 2 connecting category D8 "superior oceanview stateroom with balcony" cabins, numbers 6574 and 6576. They were perfect, close to the elevators. Room service took a little more than an hour each time we ordered it. But breakfast was on time when we scheduled it in advance. We took two shore excursions, and they were both fine. The excursion that ends at the airport was very convenient. It allowed us to be on the first group to exit the ship. Embarkation was really bad. We stood amongst a mob of people pushing to get through security and afterwards we stood in line for check in, and in another line to be admitted to the ship, for a total of 1.5 hours. We had done the pre check in at home and had even uploaded our pictures, but it still took forever. There was some kind of trouble with the "system". When we finally got in the ship, we wanted to get something to eat, but the restaurants were closing because "in half an hour there will be a drill". We hadn't had lunch (our embarkation was supposed to be at 2 pm) and we thought we would eat when we got to the ship. But we had to go hungry for a couple of hours more. The drill went pretty smoothly but there weren't enough seats for everyone so we had to sit on the floor. After it was over, we went straight to the Windjammer and stood in line for about 20 minutes, only to find out that they opened the OTHER entrance to the Windjammer where we weren't standing, so we had to switch lines and by this time the line was really long. When it opened the line moved very slowly because now they are making passengers wash their hands on their way into the Windjammer every time and there are only a few washbasins. It takes forever if it's a busy time like breakfast, lunch or dinner. The captain made an announcement later that because of the delays during embarkation, we would all get free internet. Nice touch. When getting off the ship for an 8 am excursion, we stood at a gangway that was going to open but was not open yet; the employees were there but weren't letting people through. We waited for about 10 minutes, and then realized that other gangways were open and they hadn't told us, they just let us stand there waiting. Another time my daughter stood in line for rock climbing that was supposed to open at a certain time, and after waiting for 15 minutes, they opened the wall on the other side but not the one where she stood in line.... No signs, no apologies, and when she realized she had to switch to the other one and be last in line she decided not to do it. So in general besides the slow embarkation (and disembarkation), there was a lack of communication as to which side/door of the different things was the one that was going to open on time. That was the most frustrating aspect, at least for me. Read Less
