Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

My friend and I, both in our early 20's, took our first cruise on December 16, 2007 on the Radiance of the Seas to the Western Caribbean. We flew in to Fort Lauderdale from Canada the night before, and while it cost us quite a bit more, it was a good choice as there was a big snow storm at home on the day of the cruise with many flight cancellations. We had a short stay due to our delayed ...

We drove to Fort Lauderdale from Melbourne early on the 22nd, arriving about 10 a.m. Parking was easy, though a little inconvenient for pedestrians. DH brought his mobility scooter, so I got dropped off with the luggage and he parked. The luggage handlers were nice and efficient; we tipped $1 per bag for 3 bags. Boarding was almost immediate and quite simple and fuss-free. Our carry-on is a ...

This was my second cruise on Royal Caribbean and my 22nd cruise overall. I have been on Holland America, Princess, Disney, Costa, Norwegian and Celebrity also. My favorite ships are Celebrity Millenium and Constellation. Having only sailed on Sovereign of the Seas before (in 1997). I didn't care for that cruise. The cabins were really tiny, our waiter was friendly but too pushy with asking us to ...

Radiance of the Seas - Central America/Panama Canal

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

BACKGROUND: We like cruising, had lived in Panama, and decided that the Radiance of the Seas was the way to re-visit Panama in a relaxing manner. We flew to Fort Lauderdale the day before the cruise and stayed in the Embassy Suites near the port. They have a "cruise deal" where they take you to the pier as part of the room cost. Saturday morning saw dozens of people checking in and out from the 7 ...

This is my second cruise, my first one on Radiance of the Seas. We flew to Fort Lauderdale the day before the cruise to avoid the hassle of delayed flights. EMBARKATION: We arrived at the port at 11:30 since our checkout from our hotel was at 11:00. We expected to have to wait, but we walked right onto the ship. We were sitting down at the Windjammer, eating lunch, at 12:00 noon. It couldn't ...

This was our 11th cruise and first on Royal Caribbean. Our other 10 cruises have all been on Princess. As in all cruises there were things that were great and other things that were disappointing. First let me say that the Radiance of the Seas is a beautiful ship and even far exceeded my expectations. We liked all the public rooms on the ship and even felt many were more attractive then Princess ...

We were very excited to take this cruise, because our previous RCCL cruises had all been on voyager class. I had heard so much about Radiance class and we were not disappointed. In fact I think this will be the class of ship of choice for us in the future. I booked the trip in August 2006 and by the time we sailed in March 2007 the price had gone down three times -fully refunded by RCCL, they ...

We were on the Radiance over New Year and an excellent promotion succeeded in persuading us to repeat it over the Spring Break, as we had enjoyed the previous cruise so much. We took a taxi to the Port as we live in Ft.L during the winter. Embarkation was difficult at New Year, but a breeze in March - straight on at about 1.00pm with a short stop for check-in with the SetSail Pass. Both times ...

I cannot say enough about the beauty of the Radiance. I have cruised 20 times prior on 5 different cruise lines and I can safely say that this ship is the most beautiful I've ever sailed on. She shines like no other. Our balcony cabin was small...almost too small. We travelled with our adult children (they were in another cabin) and we could not all 4 be in the actual cabin together. 2 on the ...
