The Disney Wonder is the last ship I sailed pre-pandemic in January 2020. Although the ship looked in decent shape then, DCL had the Wonder spend some time at a drydock during the pandemic and the room and common areas felt "refreshed" although nothing significant had changed. This near 25-year old ship, on the outside, looks better than some of the 5 years old ship from a major ...
This was the first time I have sailed with DCL. The Wonder looked beautiful coming off its 2017 refurbishment. 14 nights was a gamble for a cruise line I have never sailed before but Disney lived up to it's reputation for excellence. Of note, this particular cruise had only 300 children aboard. It was a running joke among the crew. It made for what was probably a much quieter cruise experience ...
Disney has always been on top of our lists in terms of quality and ability to exceed our expectations. We enjoy their movies, Disneyland and merchandise. Cruises now are part of that list. This was our first cruise with Disney while cruising with several other cruise lines--approximately 10 other cruises. The Disney cruise exceeded all of our previous cruises. While on board we reserved 4 ...
We returned Disney for our 16th overall cruise, our 3rd Dinesy cruise and our first Panama Canal Cruise. Compared to all of the other lines we have traveled only Celebrity comes close to matching the quality of Disney.
This was our second time on the Wonder. The ship was updated before we sailed. It was nice, clean and easy to get around on. Considering this was a 14-day cruise there were ...
Disney did it well with having Captain Ken Puckett (former Panama Canal pilot boat captain) and Ron Clements (animator and director of many wonderful animated Disney movies, including Moana and The Little Mermaid) give lectures during sea days. There were also movies shown related to Ron Clements' lectures, animation classes, other Disney movies, Disney shows, cooking classes, hide and go seek ...
We sailed on the Wonder last year for a 5 day before dry dock. The work that they did was fantastic.
Cabanas (the buffet) is much more functional and much roomier than it used to be, never really had any trouble finding a table inside.
The kids areas - the Oceaneer Lab and Club were both much better than last year. We had difficulty getting our son to go last year, this year he didn't want ...
Got offered a deal on Disney Wonder East Bound Panama Cruise 23 Nov 2015 - bit worried as I am not a great lover of Disney - or children - perhaps that's why I have a Grumpy T shirt. My wife wanted to go - so off we went. Had a good few days in San Diego visiting the Zoo etc - (stay near the cruise terminal - those hills are a killer). Easy boarding and check in. Cabin really nice. Staff ...
This is our second cruise with Disney. I love being on the sea so this trip offered quite a few days of sailing without a stop at a port.
Embarkation was easy and relatively quick. When we saw the lines, my heart sank but it was really quite quick to be processed. We had a nice room with veranda on Deck 8 midship. As it turns out, we were on the side of the ship that overlooked all the action ...
If you want to take a Disney cruise but think it's a bit pricey...and it will be...unless you take an unpricey repositioning cruise to the Panama Canal from Miami to San Diego. We booked early (14 months prior to cruise) to get best rate and room. Got verandah room with balcony and it was awesome. Cost was much cheaper than most cruise lines for balcony room. Cruise, food, service, activities, ...
Positives:
-Very few children on the Canal Crossing which meant the characters got to know the children by name.
-Our room location, experience was great.
-Although every room was sold, most rooms were only 2 pax, so the ship seemed less crowded
-We were the first to experience Freeze the Night Away deck party.
-Free BYOB!
Not so goods:
-A large majority of the cast was ...
