Here's my review of our trip on the Summit, April 16th through 26th, 2004. You will see some cross references to Holland America in this review, as I had only been on one other cruise line RCCL (7 days), which happened to be my first cruise. Holland America was my 2nd cruise and was my favorite. So, this was my 3rd cruise. The reason for the comparison between Holland and Celebrity was because ...
Just returned from a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise on the Summit. Great cruise. First time on Celebrity. This is their once a year itinerary as they get ready to set sail to Alaska on Friday. Before we booked, we had narrowed it down to a 8 night Eastern Caribbean with RCCL and this cruise. Nothing against RCCL, but this trip was great. I had heard a lot about Celebrity and it is all true. ...
Just returned from a very successful voyage. 11 days was very enjoyable on the Summit. This was our second time on Summit. Previous cruise was April 2003.
This was a new experience for us. Prior cruises did not permit travel a day before cruise to the port. This time was a first for us. We booked the Holiday Inn in Ft. Lauderdale for the night before our cruise. Unfortunately this we during ...
Review of the Celebrity Summit - Eastern Caribbean March 5, 2004
Susan and I booked our winter vacation almost a year ago. We had been on the Constellation a couple of times and all the Century class ships in both Europe and the Caribbean, but had heard marvelous things about the Summit - and the itinerary looked just right - 10 days, including 2 sea days in the beginning and end. Another plus ...
My wife and I sailed on the Summit on 3/5/04 for 10 days to the Southern Caribbean. This was our second cruise on Celebrity (after a relatively poor experience a few years ago) and our sixth cruise overall. This was a great cruise on a beautiful ship with a wonderful crew. I apologize for the length of this review, but I've tried to use headings to let each reader find the subjects he or she is ...
We have sailed on Summit before, doing the 10 day last year. We are Celebrity fans, and this ship is 'IOPO' the best!! Our boarding was very smooth, champagne was handed out when boarding, a really nice touch, and then we were able to unload our travel bags in our cabin before going for lunch. Our luggage arrived by 3pm, and we unpacked and got ready for the wonderful time we knew we would have. ...
My wife and I just got back from the 10 day Summit Southern Caribbean cruise and it was great! I read just about every review I could find about the ship before we left so I figured when we got back I would put my two cents worth in. I will try to be as informative as possible.
And so it begins....
We live in Charleston,SC so we decided to drive down to Fort Lauderdale the day before. I read ...
Departed Ft. LAUDERDALE on Friday March 5th, 2004 after a terrific night at the Renaissance Hotel on 17th St. Got to the pier around 11:30PM and on the ship by 12:00PM. The fastest embarkation process I've ever experienced. I kept waiting for the long line up around the next corner but it just didn't happen. These guys have this process perfected.
Once on board were escorted to a beautifully ...
This was my second cruise on major ocean liner overcall (Carnival Conquest in Dec. 2002) and I would like to share my full review (long) with you.
EMBARKATION: We arrived at the port at about 10:20am with two other couples also staying at La Quinta Inn. Apparently, we were too early, as people from last ship still dominated the luggage pick up/drop off area. At 11:10am, they began the boarding ...
This was my second cruise on major ocean liner overcall (Carnival Conquest in Dec. 2002).
EMBARKATION: We arrived at the port at about 10:20am with two other couples staying in the same hotel. Apparently, we were too early, as people from last ship still dominated the luggage pick up/drop off area. At 11:10am, the boarding process started for Captain's Club members and guests with suite. We were ...
