We have sailed on Summit before, doing the 10 day last year. We are Celebrity fans, and this ship is 'IOPO' the best!! Our boarding was very smooth, champagne was handed out when boarding, a really nice touch, and then we were able to unload our travel bags in our cabin before going for lunch. Our luggage arrived by 3pm, and we unpacked and got ready for the wonderful time we knew we would have.
After 17 cruises and 9 (10 at the end of April) with Celebrity, the service is the best we have had on any ship and the food is probably the best we have had also. Although their pizza was not as good as we remember. They have cut back on portion size, but just ask and the waiter will bring you trays full of anything you want. We went to the specialty dining, Normandy Room, and had a lovely time dining there, but prefer eating at our regular table with our cruise mates. We had a great waiter, Oz, and asst. waiter, Milton. Oz, is a delight and just what you would want in a waiter. He made every meal special.
We are Trivia buffs, and had a great and fun time with the Activities staff, have to mention what great assets they are to Celebrity, and hope they are still there on our return April 26th. Mentioning them, Quentin Lemmer, who is from S. Africa, what a great cruise director he will make, someday. Jennifer Rogers, from Canada, a real pro at her job, Simona Pitena, a very sweet and fun gal, and the newbee; Lauren Orenga, a Cleveland, Ohio native. She is so fun and bubbly. they added to our pleasure and fun while on board. Cruise director, Don Fuke, was very good and has a great singing voice, they should let him sing more!
