This was our first cruise and chose the Britannia because of mainly good reviews and being mainly British.. It certainly lived up to our expectations food was fantastic we chose the dine around and it does take a bit of getting used to.. in the second week we actually preferred to go to the horizon buffet especially for breakfast you could just take your time and relax.. It definitely took us a ...
I read all the reviews before deciding on a holiday so only fair that I should leave my own objective review. This trip was our first time on Britannia and we had a fantastic trip. The food choices were really good, we ate normally in the Oriental restaurant and were very well looked after with the waiters always offering more if we wanted it or to change things if they though we weren't keen. We ...
Embarkation
The car drop off takes 40 mins waiting in the car, this is a poor parking system, we were told it is a holding pattern so not to block gate entrance, but no other dock in Southampton does it this way and the fast drop off at other terminals works fine. Maybe we arrived at the worst time @14:10, but the tickets told us to arrive for 14:30 and no more than half an hour ...
I'm writing this review as my others in sections. Sailing from Southampton UK.
Embarkation/Disembarkation.
As with all of my other P&O cruises, P&O have got this to a fine art. I had to be out of my digs at 1200 and I arrived at Southampton Docks around 1300. My car was taken to a long-term car park (provided free by P&O) and I went into the main check-in hall. This hall is huge with ...
My husband and I travelled with our 5year old son. Embarkation was very good. We got on much earlier than our allocated slot and the bags already outside our cabin. The cruise demographic was largely retirees. With just under 100 under 18s on board. This was largely fine but the ships design caused major issues. There were lots of people who needed to use the lifts due to mobility issues and the ...
This was our second cruise after the Arcadia last year. This was definitely a step up in quality of food and overall wow factor of the ship. Yes there is a bit of getting used to which lifts to use to get down to your required deck but that's offset by enjoying the beautiful interior decor and ambience.
We cruised to the Madeira and the Canaries. I must admit to being quite surprised as to the ...
At least half our cruises, more than 20, have been with Celebrity Cruises so that's our yardstick for our first P&O cruise. Very slick check in, best we have ever had without priority check in. We arrived 12:35 and were in our cabin at 13:00. Luggage was there by the time we had a snack. Cabin a reasonable size, open fronted wardrobe sharing the access to the compact bathroom, no less than 40 ...
We were very apprehensive as we joined Britannia for our cruise around the med Sept 16-30th. We really enjoyed our time on the boat however.
We had an inside cabin which was plenty big enough and in fact on the foggy days appeared to be the only ones who had a good nights sleep - never heard the fog horn at all.
We enjoyed all the destinations we visited and the trips to Rome and Florence ...
Priority boarding took 15 minutes and we were clear having a champagne lunch by 13.30pm.
By time we got to our balcony cabin B248 (deck 14 mid to forward) 2 of our 3 cases were already delivered and the 3rd arrived as we unpacked. The ship is huge but easy for seasoned cruisers to navigate. The cabin & bathroom were nicely decorated and provisioned but the balcony was very small, struggling to ...
cost was decent. destination was itinerary was very good, the ship itself is stunning and very well decorated throughout. The shows in the theatre where superb and the majority of the guest artists where also very good. The entertainment team didn't do enough to make themselves known to the passengers and having been on the Azura several times I don't think they can hold a candle to them. The ...
