  • Destination: the Mediterranean

We were very apprehensive as we joined Britannia for our cruise around the med Sept 16-30th. We really enjoyed our time on the boat however.

We had an inside cabin which was plenty big enough and in fact on the foggy days appeared to be the only ones who had a good nights sleep - never heard the fog horn at all.

We enjoyed all the destinations we visited and the trips to Rome and Florence had excellent guides we learnt so much.

We enjoyed the entertainment in the limelight, our afternoon tea, the meals at Sindu were very special and we got to know our waiters in the basic restaurants.

We spent much of our evenings in the pub - the entertainment staff were all enthusiastic and there was a great sense of fun both in the pub and during the sailaways.

I had two cooking experiences the one with Marco Pierre White the icing on the cake - he was so down to earth and helpful.

The only down point were some stuffy passengers in the crows nest who complained loudly that we were not in evening dress at 5:30 on a smart night.

All in all we really enjoyed it. I think the only downside is that the ship is so big - some sea days we walked over 4 miles - that we didn't get to know any of the other passengers we never saw those we met again!

The last two days were a bit boring - if you didn't want to go to dance classes there was an air of the cruise was over once we left Gibraltar staff clearing up.

This was our second cruise the last one on Arcadia, but it was still a good experience I think too many people have over the top expectations.

However we have booked with P and O again however but next time with Oceana a smaller ship fly/cruise so less time to and from the destinations..

Cabin Review

Cabin inside B241

Our cabin was plenty big enough. Lots of storage. Good hot shower. Comfortable bed

No nose from other cabins. Near to the front lifts but far enough away not to hear any noise.

Two floors from Horizon restaurant useful when we needed breakfast before excursions.
