Oosterdam needs to be refurbed

Review for Oosterdam to Transatlantic

HAL is always our go to cruise line so when we decided to try a transatlantic cruise we booked with HAL. First off, the cabin we were first given (which we picked out) had a toilet that was not flushing properly. After 7 or 8 calls with guest services and 2 plumber visits they finally moved us to a different cabin (after 4 nights of crossing our fingers that it would flush). When Patrick from ...

Very disappointing

Wanted to celebrate a special birthday the Holland America way. There was no celebration! No song. No cake No card. Service was mostly adequate, but slow. There was a decided lack of vegetables available, and I really tried to order extra veggies at dinner but they never came. Mariner ceremony was a big, flat nothing. We used to go to the dining room for a special lunch after. This ...

We booked this ship because it was new, Oasis class and leaving from one of our favorite cities, Barcelona. The ship itself is beautiful, as only Royal Caribbean can do. It seems longer and wider than other Oasis Class ships like Symphony, Harmony , Oasis and Allure. Our crossing had 400+ passengers. Lots of Europeans, and a very small number of children. We also had over 250 Pinnicle status ...

A fantastic Transatlantic on the beautiful Jewel of the Seas

This was my first cruise following the pandemic, my last being December 2019. I chose this as I love T/A cruises, so many sea days to savour. I chose the Jewel as I don’t like huge ships, the Jewel is 2500 passengers and there were only 1200 on this cruise! The ship is a delight, so much wood and glass it is beautiful. All areas were sparkling clean and staff were fantastic ...

Transatlantic that was exactly what I hoped for

My dream was to cross the ocean in comfort during my lifetime. It was all so easy. Our cabin attendant introduced herself right away and explained that for the next 12 days, we were not to worry about anything. We opted for a suite, and indeed the extra space and amenities made a big difference. Thirty-four drawers for storage and two built-in wardrobes. Very pleased how well the A/C worked. Beds ...

Review for Valiant Lady to Transatlantic

A few caveats should be considered when reading this review. 1) This was our first Virgin Voyages cruise. 2) This was a transatlantic voyage, which is not "in their wheelhouse" in terms of what VV does. That being said some of our issues apply regardless of that fact. 3) My wife and I are very much the VV target demo - early 40s professionals with no kids, a desire to travel and ...

Virgin Valiant lady October 16-30 After a slow and painful embarkation in Barcelona - We were very pleased to see that or partial view Sea Terrace cabinet was spacious clean and innovative the balcony is large and has two chairs a table and a red cotton hammock . The cabin also includes a 50 inch flatscreen TV and his remote controls from an iPad with movies and TV shows as well as ...

Definitely not my best Celebrity experience.

Review for Celebrity Beyond to Transatlantic

New ship. Extremely well done. The excellent part stops there. Dining experience the first couple of days was ridiculous. They didn’t have anywhere near enough staff to handle the number of passengers. Reservation system was not working so people with specialty restaurant packages couldn’t use them. They had to fly a group of additional crew members in. Bad planning. The food was not at the same ...

We chose this cruise as we had previously been on a Celebrity transatlantic cruise and loved it. Also, this was a new ship which we wanted to experience. The Pros - The ship was beautiful and the infinitely stateroom was wonderful. The best bed I have had on a cruise. The food also was very good, better quality than most cruises we have been on. The Cons - The dining set up was ...

Excellent Experience

Chose this cruise as a knee jerk reaction post Covid lockdown and never regretted it for a moment. Naively didn't realise it was a brand new ship when we booked but it was excellent and it was nice not to be mopping water up around our shower which happened on our last P&O cruise which was seriously in need of a refit. Despite what previous reviewers have said we found the standard of food to ...
