We spent 3 days in Barcelona prior to the cruise. Highly recomend that if you are boarding a cruise in Barcelona that you spend a few days and enjoy this beautiful city.
Embarkation was a breeze only took about 20 minutes to go through security and board the ship. The Emerald princess has been remolded since the last time we were on it, it looks good with the updates. We had a cabin on deck 10 ...
We definitely enjoyed our cruise on the Emerald and we will be returning for the February cruise in the Pacific.
Several of the shore tours were outstanding. I’m especially referring to the tours on Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Ponta Delgada in the Azores. Since we have visited these islands on previous cruises we know there are several excellent tours from which to select. Cartagena and Malaga ...
This is the first trip on my bucket list. All of my excursions were fantastic with the exception of Adajjacio (Corsica). Nothing was open, and had not been open for awhile.
The staff on board is so friendly and helpful. If you are single, beware there was no single activities scheduled the second 11 days of the trip (after many passengers left and new ones came on board). The first 11 days, ...
We chose this cruise because of itinerary and the flight included package. Loved the stops. The ship was great except for food. I am not a fish or seafood eater so I found limited choices for me in the dining room. I am a fussy eater so I thought just me but after sitting with others in dining room, they too, were disappointed. There were very few kids on this cruise so pools were good but I would ...
On the whole this was a fantastic cruise. Gibraltar, Marseille, Genova, and even Pisa (once you manage to leave the port of Livorno) were all fantastic. I can highly recommend the itinerary.
Buffet areas were busy but we always managed to find a table for the four of us. Food was good, generally no complaints, although they were running out of basics like honey and muesli by day 5 and the ...
We wanted to see some of Europe and this looked to be a great way to see a lot of the places we wanted to see and cruising is one of the best ways to holiday. unpack once and let them take you to the places you want to see.
The ship is very welcoming lots to do well set out very clean. Was impressed with the food on board especially the dining room, all food groups were catered with. service ...
First time on Princess and I was very impressed. Food, service and entertainment were all top notch. The best part of this cruise was the itinerary. We left from Barcelona and the first stop was Marsaille and Aix-en-Provence in France. Beautiful area and I got to practice a liitle French! Next stops was Florence/Pisa. All buildings in Pisa were gorgeous besides just the tower. Cathedral in ...
We choose this cruise as it had only 3 sea days and 18 ports so it was all about small group tours to maximize the locations.
We are experienced cruises and decide in advance if it is a cruise to relax and use the ship board activities, for the ports, or a mixture, hence we did not use and on board activities.
We were a little disappointed that there was no cards on board on the sea days ...
We spent 28 nights on Emerald Princess August/Sept and had a fantastic trip as did many others we befriended on the cruise. The ship and crew were absolutely fantastic and most were happy to have a chat and some even gave us advice re how to get around in ports we were doing on our own. The ship is lovely and we can't understand why it is being refurbished soon other than to modernize some areas. ...
Just returned on Monday, nice vacation. We added a few extra days in Barcelona before boarding the ship and extra days in Rome. Well worth it and allowed us to see Barcelona and Rome.
Dining - I'm a vegetarian and didn't have any issues with finding something to eat. I've only been on one other cruise but with Royal Car. There were two differences I noticed: On RC we did not have a per ...
