We choose this cruise as it had only 3 sea days and 18 ports so it was all about small group tours to maximize the locations. We are experienced cruises and decide in advance if it is a cruise to relax and use the ship board activities, for the ports, or a mixture, hence we did not use and on board activities. We were a little disappointed that there was no cards on board on the sea days "bridge" but in the end we bought cards and organised it ourselves so still managed to play. We used two ship excursions but only for transport in Florence. The anytime dinning was horrid, bad service, cold food, so after the first 7 days we changed to fixed early dinning and the experience went from horrid to excellent, so we will think a lot before choosing anytime again. We had a week in Spain which was great and this also enabled us to be on the spot for our embarkation so boarding was easy. Our cabin D320 was a mini-suite and was in a good position so I would recommend it. In summary, we had a great cruise with many lovely ports and nice entertainment at night.

Excellent group tours

  • San Gimignano
San Gimignano great, wine tasting and lunch although extra 30 euros great, well worth it. vehicle great, Drive (Ivan) horrific, the worst driver we had, no manner, drove too fast and badly, advertised as English speaking (no way) if he understood English he certainly did not respond to any of our requests to stop or slow down.

  • Private Tour
Cab Driver had never been to these place before and even he admitted that it was great. So close to the port only 30 minutes so if you have been to Rome before then don't miss these attractions they are well worth your time. We saw a burial site used by villages for four hundred years between 3 and 7 BC very similar to the Pyramids, outstanding not to be missed.
Civitavecchia surroundings (Tarquinia or Cerveteri tour) , Starting from the town that is furthest away - Cervetri, whose extraordinary fame is mainly attributable to its great importance as an Etruscan city which dates back to the XIII century BC when it was called "Caere"; but there is another aspect of this beautiful town that deserves mention and that is its extraordinary geographical position, since it rises close to the sea and next to the Lake of Bracciano (downstream), Continuing along the Via Aurelia towards Civitavecchia, stop and visit the enchanting Santa Severa, a town famous mainly for the splendid medieval castle that faces the sea and the numerous archeological treasures that refer mainly to the ruins of Pyrgi (one of the main Etruscan ports of Caere), situated near the castle itself: at the same time, there are also a variety of facilities for those that love the sea, beaches and the night life, Proceeding along the Via Aurelia in the same direction, just before Civitavecchia there coastal town of Santa Marinella has numerous archeological findings from all ages, but also for the highly equipped summer establishments which line the coast, Taking the Aurelia route about 10 kilometers in the direction of Grosseto, the famous Tarquinia; is the Etruscan town rich in history, culture and archeological treasures of the Etruscan people of which, to this date, very little is known

They collected us at Salerno, for tour of Amalfi coast and walk around Positano. Never stopped once on way to Positano no photos nothing and the Transport for 8 people was a joke - one seat was for a child with no where to put your feet and no way to put on a seat bealt. makes our list as worst tour on 21 days of tours, 8 people and 7 seats, need a smaller van, then you should only book and request payment from 7 people. STAY Away

no tour guide, just dropped at the top and come back in an hour. 6 hour tour and no information, no stops except this one no photo stops and 7 seats for 8 people. their reason - we needed to bring small van to get into Positano, well then why book 8 people if you can only provide 7 seats?
