Our first trans Atlantic cruise and we had a party of 10 friends. New ship with a few months to work out the bugs and get new crew members up to speed, right?
While the food was pretty good and the staff worked hard, our group was still having desert when 2nd seating was coming by (more than once).. Serving delays blamed on computer problems.

We booked this cruise several months in advance, and splurged on both airfare and the room by upgrading. Chose this cruise cuz it fit a block of time between already booked flights and it was rt barcelona and had a good itinerary and was new and bigger than other carnival ships. We chose this cruise because of the ports. It was fun and food was great. I was frustrated with Carnival charging $17 per person to ride a shuttle from port in MArseille. They warned us of crooks there - Carnival was the biggest. Same with other ports - CItavichia and Palma de Mallorca. We walked to Mayor beach, but it was red flagged due to pollution. First of all I have to commend the staff of the Guest Services desk who were phenomenal.
They helped me out since the airline left my bag in New York. They also let me use their international telephone to make phone calls to airlines in order to change my departure plans. The embarkation went really well. Once onboard we had a wander round. There was no wow appeal. The cabin was not cleaned properly we had a half eaten snicker in our fridge, a pencil on the floor & a dirty sock under the bed. The rooms were a good size and beds comfortable. Our balcony was never cleaned.
