The MDR was awful. Too many people crammed in. No room for the waiters to work. Terrible menus and awful food (quality and portion size). My wife had runny paella one evening and it came with one shrimp and an unopened mussel. When she complained that the mussel was probably bad the Head Waiter brought her three more unopened mussels! We only went about five times out of fourteen.
The buffet ...
We chose this cruise line as we had previously been on a few P & O cruises and felt that they had become more about quantity than quality. Our local travel agent recommended MSC and whilst P & O were offering a similar cruise at 3 times less than the price we paid, we booked a Christmas experience. Well, it certainly was an experience unfortunately, not of the great type.
We embarked with ...
If you read the reviews this ship you would hesitate to book .
But I can honestly tell you that the negatives are either very unlucky or habitual moaners and whingers ( I suspect the latter )
We had a superb Christmas cruise around the Caribbean ….loved the itinerary where you sail from one island to the next through the night and have a full day off the ship exploring .
Seaside is a ...
This was our 6th cruise with MSC. 2,700 passengers boarded each week in Martinique. Over 1000 boarded in Guadalupe and the remainder in Barbados. About 75% of the passengers spoke French and the evening entertainment especially in the atrium was specifically for these guests. The food in the buffet was repetitive with a lot less choice than on previous MSC cruises. Outside the deck 8 buffet there ...
Maybe, just maybe... if this is your first cruise ever you may find it interesting because you have nothing else to compare it to. After 35 cruises we knew this was a gamble but we booked last minute as every other ship was sold out for the 4th of July. MSC in the US is really geared to first time cruisers, very young families with apparently undisciplined, screaming kids and those that don't know ...
Worst cruise ever and Ihave done over 16, first and last time using MSC
God help anyone on their cruise if theres an emergency as none of the crew seem capable of knowing anything in general let alone an emergency and that goes for the higher up staff as well.
Lower staff over worked and do long hours higher staff just dont care about anyone
From bad food, not enough entertainment, slow ...
Worst cruise ever and i have been on 16 cruises with different companies.
1) the cabin was a problem from the start, no soap, hairdryer caught fire, lights going off and on, balcony light not working, toilet not flushing, no kettle in room and no little table on balcony
2) no washing of hands or sanitising was enforced so 9 out of 10 people just didnt bother, most of the time soap not ...
We have been on a dozen previous cruises and this was the worst cruise by a long way. The ship, cabin and crew were all very good so what went wrong.
Breakfast was good but the rest of the food was poor. Lunch meals in the buffet looked unappetising and were cold or warm at best. Your best bet is the Ipanema restaurant but it takes a while for three course meal and we were often not on the ...
We choose this cruise for the itinerary . We have done two other cruises with msc in the past and found them to be very good , this time however the food in the main restaurant was awful lacking in flavour very mediocre, the availability of choice was awful mainly venison or fish , the quality of the food was very poor .
The entertainment was lacking in choice also there was three main bands ...
we chose this cruise as we love cruising the caribbean out of barbados. this turned out to be rubbish in the 14 days we visited 4 islands TWICE the standard of food was rubbish unless you like over spiced / herbs and ITALIAN based food. so called English choices, under cooked even if you asked for well done. For English style food i do not think Beefburgers AND Hot Dogs fit the bill. The so ...
