Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Carnival Spirit

My wife, daughter (her 1st cruise) and we had the worst Cruise experience yet. 4 visits to guest services the 1st day. 18 people on our trip, 4 families. 1) they made us book 2 rooms for 3 people. 2) rooms keys didn't work 3) confiscated my bottle of wine 4) I had a drink pkg, so I got 1 beer and then proceeded to Lido Deck where we bought 3 lanyards, and sign for them. 5) Gust ...

What’s Happened to the Royal Caribbean Brand?

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

On boarding the ship my wife and I were shocked to find our cabin would only be serviced once a day. This was not a cheap cruise particularly when paying in Aussie $. Royal Caribbean left this to the cabin steward to try and explain. Very poor effort on behalf of the management team to leave this to the cabin attendant. Surely a cabin cleaned twice a day provides a much more healthier environment ...

We were planning a long cruise of 9 weeks from Auckland to LA of about 9 weeks. When they sold it to us we thought that this was one cruise but we found out that this cruise was split up in 3 parts. With twice the same ports as you did at the end of the cruise that just ended. That was not told at all when they sold this to us! So at the end of the first cruise part you end again in Auckland where ...

Great Service, poor decision making.

Went on this cruise for my late honeymoon with my wife. Service and staff was generally amazing, the team keeping the ship clean and serving the food in the Brittania restaurant were top notch. Afternoon tea was wonderful we went almost every day, and the gala nights were really nice. It's wonderful to still have cruise lines that keep things classy. The food that we got was great and tasted ...

OK, but not great

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Island Princess

We chose the Half World cruise as a way to escape winter and to get to the Arab countries where we wanted to tour. Cruising is always pleasant and so my rating is relative to other cruises we've done. Generally the food was ok (what you might expect at Denny's) and the ride not to bad (for us) even when the seas were rough. But nothing was impressive and the entertainment was VERY lame. You can ...

Under staffed, rude staff, food gone down hill

Chose this cruise as it was a food cruise, didn’t realise when we booked that all the chefs dinners were going to be at large extra cost. Hence we didn’t do any as exchange rate Australian dollar to US $ is very poor. Have sailed on this boat prior to Covid and have no memories of anything to complain about. It seems they either can’t get staff or are just trying to save money. Took 20 minutes or ...

One Foot In The Grave - BORING

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Silver Muse

We are in our mid 50s, have done 6 cruises with 5 carriers and this was the worse. Electric wheelchairs, walking frames, everywhere. The average age group is 70+. They love not leaving their rooms or the ship for 2 weeks so it suits them. The ship is too small (550 People) so is limited to going into small destination ports only as it can’t cope with over 1.5mtr (4ft waves) in places like ...

This was a family Christmas get together, the old saying you get what you pay for …. If you like standing in lines for food, being sat on a Tender for over 45 minutes on the water, not being able to get off in searing heat, then trying to get back to the ship, lining up for hours, again in the heat, whilst they only ran 2 Tenders, welll this is the cruise for you. Accounts paid in full for on ...

Definitely not a 5 star cruise. More 3 star

I sailed on the silver spirit a few years ago when butlers wore white gloves, the food was excellent in all areas of the ship. A key ring light was beside your bed if you needed it in the dark. Nuts and smarties were replenished in the room as well if you wanted to nibble with a wine. What a disappointment this one was. The small things that made it 5 star were gone.. the food in the buffet was ...

My husband & I travelled with 8 other friends. Overall, we had a great time BUT we didn't walk away with raving reviews. Our cabin was clean and our bed was comfortable. The staff were very attentive and polite. This is obviously a very important feature. The entertainment was great. The theme nights were a lot of fun. The decor on this ship is compared to a sensory nightmare. The ...
